Still haven’t added Google’s new Preferred Sources button to your site?
The new button lets visitors mark you as a preferred source on Google without ever leaving your site. The old was basically just an outbound link.
This is what it looks like on my blog
Google is leaking user AI Mode and AI Overview fragments and prompts into Google Search Console.
SEOs have been trying to find ways to extract these using different techniques, such as regex, pattern matching, and AI. They are all very effective methods.
However, it is not straightforward and easy to do because you see a mix of query types in different languages, patterns, and many edge cases.
There is only one real way to solve this problem.
By building a custom machine learning model and training it on thousands of queries.
I did this and built a free tool around it so anyone can use it.
- Supports 100,000 queries per run. (Free)
- Upload your GSC generative AI report and get your pages mapped against these fragments and prompts.
- Export the data and start analysing the output, segment, and build your actions based on this.
- If you have more than 100k queries, contact me directly for a batch run. (Use the form)
Find the article and tool link below. 👇

The tool is still in beta so keep that in mind when using. Thank you.
P.S. Please play nice and don't hammer the server. I'm running this for free and it costs me $ to process everything, so I'd appreciate it if you take it a bit easy. Thanks in advance.
What a useful and free ChatGPT Query Fan-Out Chrome Extension that allows to easily track them over time by @Netanel 👇 Showing:
* Queries: The actual search strings ChatGPT ran behind each prompt — the fan-out itself.
* Sources: Every page it retrieved, grouped by domain, with cited vs. not-cited marked.
* Citations: The sources that made it into the answer, and which domains keep winning.
Everything is shown from your Chrome side-panel and allows you to export the data!

Astro + Cloudflare ftw. That's my stack in many cases.
Is it easy and accessible enough for your average person? Definitely not, but that could change over time.
I built Yoast SEO. I ran my blog on WordPress for years. Then yesterday I moved it to static HTML.
Everything that matters, SEO, search, schema, is still there. What I dropped was the overhead.
Do you actually need a CMS? For quite some sites: no.

I like the direction SC is headed in. Data is important, but actionables are much better.
Hopefully this is a first step in making GSC usable by the avg business owner, as it should be.

“Hey Google, How Many Jews Were Killed by Nazis?” vs. “Hey Google, what was the Nakba?”
There is something ROTTEN at Google.

6 months ago, I wrote an opinion piece for the @Wix#SEO hub reconsidering the benefits of using AMP.
Starting August 1st, we will be sunsetting AMP and will 301 redirect the AMP URLs to their corresponding blog posts.
It is time to kill it with fire 🔥🔥

"AMP: The writing’s on the wall
While AMP has played a significant role in the mobile web (and in shaping the technologies that the news industry relies on), it might be time to rethink its role in your SEO strategy.
As someone who once advocated for AMP, I now find myself questioning this stance. This shift in perspective is a testament to the dynamic nature of SEO, reminding us to stay adaptable and forward-thinking in our approach.
In short, let’s kill it with fire."
Just a heads up: using ChatGPT to create your social network comments isn't fooling anyone.
Instead of looking smarter, it kinda gives off a lazy vibe. Trust me, people can tell. Let's keep it real and show off our own thoughts, yeah?
I was excited when @googlesearchc released regex filtering in Search Console, but I always disliked the experience of having to copy-pasta my #SEO regex every time.
Introducing enhanced regex in GSC! This Chrome extension isn't publicly available yet, should I publish it?
Landed some big improvements for INP last month, sites built on @Wix are now in much better shape for the upcoming replacement of FID.
Starting to get the hang of this new metric, more to come..
🌎 71.8% (↑ 13.7%) had good INP globally
🇺🇸 90.8% (↑ 6.3%) had good INP in the US
I think Google expanded the "People Also Ask" SERP feature to more languages and geos. Seeing this for the first time in Hebrew.
Has any #SEO noticed this in other geos and languages lately?
