Congratulations to @0xAlbertG (Nethermind), @nico_mnbl (zkSecurity), and Benedikt Wagner (Ethereum Foundation) on winning one of three Outstanding Paper Awards at TCC 2026, the Theory of Cryptography Conference, for "A Simplified Round-by-round Soundness Proof of FRI." FRI sits at the core of most STARK-based proof systems, including Starknet's. Its existing soundness proofs are long and hard to check. Congrats to @TACEO_IO on taking Merces to mainnet. Private balances on public rails, now with real funds, computed across the TACEO Network, where Nethermind is one of the MPC node operators.

We paved the way for client diversity, and then showed that Ethereum doesn’t have to be stuck at a 30M gas limit. Our mission is not complete yet. Next priorities: 1. Nethermind joins the chat for efficient archive nodes. Not only that but we invested heavily to be THE FASTEST on JSON RPC too. Most of it is 2.0 but few additional features and optimizations will come very soon in 2.1.

C#/.NET being pushed hard running infrastructure at Ethereum's scale. Nethermind runs on ~3k nodes and accounts for ~33% of staked nodes - supporting a ~$334B native asset, ~$146B of stablecoins and ~$54B deposited in DeFi apps. Nethermind 2.0 has some amazing performance work in it: up to 2.55x block throughput, p99 block processing from 1.65s to 208ms, eth_call RPC 15-27% faster and Keccak-256 ~30% faster with platform intrinsics.
