Nintendo’s main manufacturer for Switch 2 and Switch cartridges is quitting the business nintendoeverything.com/ninte…
Community note
Macronix primarily supplied ROM chips for original Switch cartridges and is not confirmed as the main or sole supplier for Switch 2, which uses multiple manufacturers including ROHM. Analyst notes Nintendo has other game card suppliers. x.com/gibbogame/stat… powerupgaming.co.uk/2026/11/04/nin… ninpatentswatch.com/2026/02/17/mac… ninpatentswatch.com/2026/08/14/swi… taipeitimes.com/News/biz/archi

Macronix isn't the manufacturer for N2 cartridges. The chips inside are associated with Rohm Semiconductor. No component identification or financial analysis show that Macronix is supplying NS2 cartridges. This may however affect NS cartridges. Nintendo will just switch supplier
