I want to say thanks to you guys for being here. A lot of you know my wife and I have been going through some dark times, mourning the loss of our baby 5 months ago. Talking video games on X has helped a lot and taken the focus off of grieving. Even those of you who come to my posts to only insult me, I have nothing but love for you and wish you nothing but the best. Thanks to everyone for continually being in my replies. 🫶

I picked up the Gears E-Day Xbox controller to replace my falling apart Elite controller. Love the design. However, I forgot how much I'm not a fan of the standard Xbox controller. It's too lightweight and it requires batteries. I've been using this Elite controller for years. Big fan of a heavy controller and not having to replace batteries. Anyhow, I finished Assassin's Creed Syndicate last night. Terrible game. The deeper I got into the game, the more I wanted it to be over with. Starting Fable 2 next.

I made a tier list for all 63 PlayStation 1 games I own. This one was actually really hard to do. There's 1300 games on the PS1 and trying to find the 63 I own was pretty tedious work.😂 Like my N64 rankings, my PS1 rankings will probably anger a few people. Spoiler alert: Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9 are all A-tier. Sorry.🤷‍♂️
Here's my Nintendo 64 tier list, based only on what I own. I have 49 N64 games and Wave Race is the best of them. Both Zeldas and Mario 64 are A tier for me. Sorry guys.

Almost every gamer has a console that just sits there. For me that was the Series S that stays in the master bedroom. I've had it for 5 years and barely touched it, since most of my Xbox playing happens on the Series X in my game room. That changed when disc to digital became a thing. I've been using it since they first implemented it for Xbox Insiders, and now I'm playing my disc games on a console that doesn't even have a disc drive. This is incredible. It's going to help me get through my Xbox backlog a lot quicker. Disc to digital is the greatest thing added to gaming in a long time. Sony and Nintendo both need to add this.

Need to add one more thing: Sometimes I don't reply to comments on my posts. Don't take it personal. I work full time and have a lot going on at home. Sometimes I'm just tired and need to go sit in my chair and zone out. But I do eventually read all the replies.

I acquired Fable 2 today. I've never played a single Fable game, so obviously the best place to start is in the middle with number 2.😂 I'll probably start it up this weekend after I finish Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

My N64 tier list. Some rules: - Using the 1 S tier rule - every game on here is good - games of low noteriety excluded except for chameleon twist - games of low quality excluded - games I didn't beat not included AND Sorry in advance to Majora's Mask fans. Not for me.

Nintendo Wii appreciation post! I bought the Wii right after I got out of the Navy in June 2010, 3 months before I picked up my Xbox 360. I was still in my partying phase and thought it would be a good party console. I was right, but it turned out to be more than that. I was addicted to Wii bowling for about 2 months straight. I also loved New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Absolutely fantastic Mario game. I didn't buy a ton of Wii games, but the ones I got were high quality. Most of my time went to Wii Sports, NSMB Wii, and the Virtual Console. The red Wii in the picture was my sister's. She let me have it a few months ago. I still have my original black one from 2010. Anyone else lose a couple months of their life to Wii bowling?

Honest and Unpopular Reviews No. 54 Contra (NES) Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start. If you had an NES growing up, you know that code. Put it in on the title screen and Contra gives you 30 lives instead of 3. I have never beaten this game without it. I first played Contra as a kid at a friend's house in the late 80s during a sleepover. This game felt impossible to beat and turned into one of my earliest rage quits. We stayed up all night playing it. We weren't any older than 6 or 7 years old, struggling hard to get through this. I never owned this game until just a few years ago and I was finally able to beat it, thanks to that cheat code. For most of this game you're running through the jungle shooting at anything that moves, which ends up being just about everything on the screen. Every so often a capsule flies by that gives you a new gun if you shoot it down. At that sleepover, my friend and I played it together on 2 player and it was a struggle no matter what. Contra is hard, the kind of hard where one bullet from anything on the screen kills you and every death costs you whatever gun you had, Spread Gun included. Even with all that, it's still one of the greatest games on the original Nintendo. I rate this one a 4.5 out of 5.

Honest and Unpopular Reviews No. 53 Nintendo 64 Everybody says Sony won the 90s. If you're only counting consoles sold, sure, the PlayStation outsold the N64 3-to-1, but the N64 dominated pop culture. It's hard to describe how big it was. It was the hardest thing to find for Christmas in 1996 besides Tickle Me Elmo, sold out in most stores across the country, the same year Jingle All the Way came out, a movie about a dad losing his mind trying to find the Turbo Man action figure. Super Mario 64 was what every kid at school was talking about until GoldenEye came out the next summer and took over. The PS1 had somewhere around 1,300 games come out in North America. There are some all time greats in there like Metal Gear Solid, but most of it was nonsense shovelware. The N64 had under 400 games and still had the better library. Wave Race 64 and 1080° Snowboarding are two of the best games on the system, with Wave Race still at the top. Mario 64 was the first game we played on ours in 1997. I was 13 and we were all blown away by it. Most of my memories with my brother from back then are on the N64. We played through both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask together, and when he borrowed Episode I: Racer from a friend I pretty much took it over until his friend wanted it back. On Saturdays the neighborhood kids would come over to play four player GoldenEye for hours at a time and then Mario Kart 64 whenever we took a break from GoldenEye. The summer of 2000 I played an unhealthy amount of Major League Baseball Featuring Ken Griffey Jr. before discovering Perfect Dark. My only knock on the console is the controller, that three pronged thing with the analog stick right in the middle. A big downgrade from the Super Nintendo controller. But it didn't matter. We still made it work. The Dreamcast is still the greatest console ever made. But 30 years later, I'd still take the N64 library over the PlayStation's. I rate the Nintendo 64 a 4.5 out of 5.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is my all time favorite console. The Super Nintendo. The 2nd console I played, after the NES. I remember when we got the SNES, I want to say Christmas 1993. Game quality took a big leap forward going from 8 bit to 16 bit. From the first time I played a game on here, I immediately fell in love with it. This was the console that made me a "gamer." Playing Super Mario All Stars, Super Mario World, Street Fighter 2, Yoshi's Island, Captain America and the Avengers, Maximum Carnage, NBA Jam, Star Fox, and many others. This was peak 1990s for me. What's your all time favorite console and when did you become a "gamer"?
