Plant Person Ⓥ The world should be run by dogs and children

This investigation also involves sexual abuse, including rape, during processing and detention by israeli forces
As an Italian, I did not expect this one > Rome prosecutors have put Israel's defence minister Katz and army chief Zamir under investigation. Possible crimes: torture, kidnapping, injury, robbery. The complaints come from 50 Italian citizens seized on the Gaza flotillas in 2025 and 2026. Europe spent two years sending weapons and "concern". Now one prosecutor in Rome actually opens a file. Small step. But the wall of impunity just got a crack.

'The monsters are no longer hiding in the shadows. They occupy presidential offices and ministries, command armies and police forces, control digital platforms, dominate television screens, administer borders, build detention centers, and transform the suffering of others into political theater. Their language of racial purification, mass deportation, extermination, vengeance, and disposability no longer produces the outrage it once might have summoned. Cruelty is displayed as strength. Humiliation becomes entertainment. The spectacle of suffering becomes a source of political pleasure. What should be unbearable becomes familiar; what should provoke resistance is absorbed into the rhythms of everyday life.' '..We must move from monster to machinery, from the pathology of the individual to the political economy of organized cruelty, and from there to the cultural and educational forces that teach people how to live with the suffering such machinery produces. Monsters do not act alone. Their power becomes visible in the institutions that protect them, the wealth that sustains them, the laws that authorize them, and the violence that follows in their wake. We see their handiwork in streets stained with blood, in migrants brutalized and left to die in detention centers, in the torture documented in Israeli prisons, and in the bodies of children and families torn apart by Israeli and American bombs in Gaza. Behind these abstractions are torn limbs, dismembered bodies, children pulled from rubble, families burned and buried beneath the ruins of their homes, and human beings reduced to flesh and bone by systems in which cruelty has been organized, authorized, and repeated until even the most horrific violence threatens to lose its capacity to shock.' 'The defining political question of our time is not whether monsters have returned. It is what kind of society produces them, what forms of power need them, and what pedagogical machinery teaches people to follow them. The monster is not the end of the analysis but its beginning. Fascism cannot be defeated by removing its most visible leaders while leaving intact the economic, political, and cultural machinery that produced them. The struggle against fascism must also confront gangster capitalism, white supremacy, militarism, the carceral state, and the institutions that turn human beings into disposable populations.' counterpunch.org/2026/09/18/…

The level of blatant corruption is breathtaking: Trump has officially launched a service offering Wall Street firms early access to his social media posts on his website -- for a fee of $100,000 per month. In the press release for the service it calls "Truth API", Trump Media and Technology Group boasted of providing financial firms with "market-moving Truths". The White House is literally charging rich investors more than a million dollars per year so they can get even richer through government-sponsored insider trading. The fish rots from the head down.

Gilham decision a shocker for artists & musicians - don't exercise your right to political opinion on stage, you may get sacked for your free speech .. even criticising a genocide @jaysongillham
**** BREAKING A comprehensive win by the MSO against Jayson Gillham, the judge deciding the Federal Fair Work Act does not capture the Victorian Equal Opportunity law. In addition, he found the MSO would have made the decision to cancel had his comments not been about Israel’s conduct, and about any other matter they regarded as affecting their business model. Gillham now must decide whether he will appeal the decision. The case sets an important precedent with respect to the determination regarding the 2 pieces of legislation. A disappointing decision considering the history of artists’ speaking out, including at concerts. Meantime his future in the profession may rest on his capacity to present his own concerts - a wildly expensive affair. This is exactly what he is doing in his upcoming tour of Australia, starting in 9 days time. No mean feat. Do come along to what will be an extraordinary musical experience with 2 pianos @jaysongillham and @IyadSughayer Come along to show your support. 🚨 WHEN JUILANI'S SILENCE BECOMES SURRENDER 🚨 Trump sat next to Abu Mohammad al-Julani — now presented to the world as “Ahmad al-Sharaa” — and openly bragged about how much he has done for Israel. One of his examples? Recognizing the occupied Syrian Golan Heights as Israeli territory. The shocking part is not Trump. We know what American presidents do when it comes to Israel. The shocking part is that Julani, sitting there as the supposed leader of Syria, said nothing. No objection. No correction. No defense of Syrian sovereignty. And when the man claiming to represent Syria remains silent while occupied Syrian land is casually handed to Israel, that silence becomes political recognition of the humiliation. But this is not only about Syria. This is the disease of modern politics. Leaders no longer behave like servants of their nations. They behave like executive directors managing someone else’s project. Mark Rutte sits quietly while Trump insults Spain. Western leaders nod while Greenland is spoken of as if it belongs to Washington. A German chancellor once stood beside Biden as Nord Stream was threatened and later destroyed. The pattern is clear. Politicians who surrender national interests are called “democrats.” Those who defend sovereignty are called “dictators.” Maybe I am wrong, but I see a world full of leaders who have lost the most basic requirement of political life: self-respect.

Starmer will be remembered as one of worst, most regressive prime ministers of last century—and it was all entirely predictable But Andy Burnham is cut from same cloth The problem is not these empty suits. The problem is the Labour Party: it is set-up to sustain UK oligarchy

Keir Starmer could have ended child poverty, homelessness and the grotesque levels of inequality in this country. Instead, he abandoned those in need, destroyed our civil liberties and facilitated genocide in Gaza. That is how this Prime Minister will be remembered - and that is the legacy of moral and political bankruptcy he leaves behind. The crises in our society are not going away. Neither are we - and we will keep fighting for a more equal, peaceful and dignified society for all.

Keir Starmer was not merely a disappointment. He is a mendacious figure of ethical decrepitude, a man who won the Labour Party leadership based on promises that he jettisoned five seconds after winning - a Labour leader who dared banish from the Labour Party not only his predecessor but also remarkable human beings like director Ken Loach - the gentleman who has taken the historic Labour Party and transformed it into a vessel for the very oligarchy it was elected to restrain. Consider the litany of Starmer’s moral and logical failures. He promised a 'different Britain', yet his actions were a masterclass in Tory-lite politics—using the same maxed-out credit card analogies that once served the austerity brigades to justify his own failure of vision. He promised a human rights lawyer’s approach but he embraced a racist-lite version of Farage. On Europe, Starmer promised Brexiteers that Brexit is Brexit yet stood before those who yearn to rejoin the European Union, winked at them to make them feel that Britain would gradually reconnect, even rejoin, with the EU while offering nothing of substance. This is not leadership; it is a fraud. And then there's the manner in which Starmer and his government rushed to offer Israel unequivocal support in pursuing its genocide in Gaza, sacrificing precious political and civil liberties in the UK by imprisoning grandmothers, priests and peaceful activists who dared support Palestine Action, an organisation that Starmer and his minions proscribed as terrorists for practising the usual activist tactics of trespassing to spray paint military planes that had demonstrably aided in the genocide. To add insult to injury, Starmer performed the diplomatic pantomime of recognising a Palestinian state, in a manner that ensured it would never happen. But above all else, this is a government that has learned nothing from the post-2008 era. Starmer and his Chancellor are playing the same tired austerity game while enabling and empowering the Finance Curse perpetrated by the City of London, throwing in forgood measure cuts in international aid to fund a military spending trickle under the guise of a "Strategic Defence Review" . It is the same old doctrine: austerity for the masses, socialism for the financiers and the arms dealers. History will remember Mr Starmer as a man without conviction, a Prime Minister who offers not a shred of honesty, but merely the cruel illusion of change. He is ethically decrepit because he had chosen, consciously, to abandon principle for power. And for that, history will indict him. Good riddance, I say. theguardian.com/politics/liv…
