So... Research & Analysis on PSG's Transitional and Wide Area Defending. Full Thread.
Replying to @NotSteven01
If u want a quick research project can u see how Bayern, psg , and maybe some other attacking team’s fullbacks handle transitions ? Do any of them match up to the goal we conceded today and if personell are simply better at handling it ?

Raphinha is the player who understands his own limitations the most. I think you'd surely know that if you watched him 2 seconds out of Brazil. Brazil is just a barren desert of creativity that puts Raphinha as its main source of creation.
Hate when players have no sense of their own limitations. Your game is built around exploiting space in behind and finishing chances. Just stick to that instead of pretending you're a creative genius. Not everyone can be Neymar or Messi, and that's perfectly fine.

Of course, you'd need to watch games without the lense of insecurity that would make you want to talk down on Raphinha cause you read on twt something about him in relation to Neymar.

"in the world cup with Spain and next season will be the best Rodri" Guardiola sent us a message from the past

I’m glad to hear Pedri remains with what worked for him. And generally, that it’s a case by case approach. All this and the other reports sound really nice but ultimately judgement will come out of the performances 😅
🚨🎖️| Benjamin Kugel (Lead Physio) has introduced a new, highly individualised approach to Barça’s physical preparation. His methodology focuses on maximizing each player's physical potential through routines tailored to their specific needs and demands. For strength work, he has largely replaced resistance bands and straps with dumbbells, though Pedri remains one of the few exceptions since the strap-based routine continues to work well for him. Additionally, post-match recovery work has been implemented across the entire squad, with both starters and substitutes performing strength exercises, maintaining higher intensity levels for those who logged fewer playing minutes. |The Zone| In this brief thread, I will try and describe the concept of the zone or what is usually known as “flow state”. The inspiration of this analogy is basically coined from one of my favorite anime titled “Kuroko’s basketball”.

Rodri nerfing our RB so his defensive contributions are more flashy and his introduction into the team feels more grand

“Flick says” “flick is convinced”
(🌕) Hansi Flick is convinced he can get the best out of Joao Felix. German coach believes Felix is someone who can make a difference, but also feels the player has always needed to have the confidence of his coaches to show his talent + playing time. @ferrancorreas #FCB 🇵🇹🚨

Armband Raphinha is a canonically a power up

He has in fact come out and said he did and the fact you don’t know says it all about how much “outrage” it caused
Can you imagine the outrage if Jude came put and said that he obsessively hate-watches his rival club and his national teammate

The problem is to see players like Trent or Wharton and think that they are to play posession. What Gordon says isn't that the English can't pass a ball properly, its that their players aren't adapted or developed for that playstyle.
This is waffle. Ingrained in the players mind because of a labelling theory anyways lean into physicality more in this Rice/Jude/Anderson era but players like Trent/Scott/Mainoo/Saka/Guehi/Wharton etc exist it’s not like England can’t play with the ball

Posession football is not just about passing well. You need to know how to angle your body as you receive the ball, understand a certain style of posessioning, have an understanding of match rythm and timing, etc. Things that aren't intrinsic to English football.

In the same way, there are examples like Baena where a Spanish player is much more suited to English football. But that doesn't mean that Spain should or can play direct.
