Recently, film criticism has just become so noisy. Amongst the too often heard, polarising cries of “masterpiece” and “disaster” more nuanced conversation is sadly being drowned out. Extreme social media reactions, “pick me” pull-quote bait and the now commonplace shouting of opinions are making it increasingly difficult to create any kind of agreeable dialogue about film. Not Too Loud, then, aims to offer a balanced, more thoughtful alternative. Yes, here in our quiet corner of the internet we hope to cut through the unwanted noise of modern film criticism and provide a more grounded experience for readers, writers and cinephiles alike.
