More than 200 ENDF soldiers surrendered with their weapons to Fano today during heavy fighting on a single front in Wollo Subregion of Amhara region. AFNM Menelik 1st Command forces also overran fortified positions that had been constructed over several years, while two ENDF regiments suffered heavy losses.
Fano captured 27 DShK heavy machine guns, seven mortars, more than 20 patrol vehicles, numerous PKM machine guns and sniper rifles, hundreds of Kalashnikov rifles, and large quantities of ammunition.
The Wollo fighting was part of broader operations launched by the newly formed Ethiopian Peoples’ Forces Alliance for Survival forces across Amhara, Afar and Tigray regions on September 23.
🚨 Fano inflicted heavy casualties on @AbiyAhmedAli regime forces and captured more than 10 military trucks and large quantities of weapons on Enjafat front
On September 23, AFNM Menelik 1st Command’s 13th Corps, supported by other Fano forces, engaged Abiy regime forces on the Enjafat front, inflicting heavy casualties and capturing significant quantities of military equipment.
Fano captured more than 10 Ural military trucks loaded with weapons, ammunition and other military equipment, while two additional trucks were put out of action. Captured weapons included mortars, DShK heavy machine guns and large quantities of other arms.
Images released so far show equipment captured by a single Fano battalion.
