This is a comment I’ve seen consistently in my video today about SteamDB and my response to it. It’s shocking to me how it’s almost impossible for people today to even put themselves in the shoes of another person

I have to be extra mindful of buying new MP games especially PvP mp since I live in SEA and if there's not a big enough playerbase the chances of me getting a match with good ping is practically zero.

Why tf would anyone want to remove a feature that benefits the consumer?

The people that says "who cares bro ?" are the very censorious mfers who care the most especially when it comes to a game they shill for. These very people will always try to find a way to censor everyone and silenceany conversation that doesn't fit their own ideology.

Apparently wanting an actual lobby makes you a sheeple now.

Time is finite... And while I can get a refund on the game, I can't get a refund on the time invested.

Sadly, true empathy is not a trait available in narcissists.

I don't get it.. If you like a game go play it. But some people only have so much money to spend and more critically only so much time. When I see a game I look up reviews prior to purchase. Steam dB was great for online games to see if it was worth investing time and money.

I just do not want to buy a game that has severe performance issues, constant bugs. Etc. SteamDB can be a useful tool. Steam Reviews are also a great tool.

Empathy needs to be cool again

Dude was using “Preference is Subjective” wrong by ignoring real world constraints. And then proceeds to equate “player counts” to “society should not dictate” which is ironically logical fallacy. Being informative for your purchase is not conformity.

tbh, i never play games with enormous numbers. i don't play multiplayer games either tbf, but still that metric looks insulting the way people are using it

I agree with MrBlooOfficial your message in the image makes sense and doesn’t contradict what he said but I dont agree with what you wrote here on X “Putting yourself in someone else’s shoes” has nothing to do with what he said, he’s talking about stats and valuing your own taste

You expect empathy ? In 2026 ? Those are some high expectations there. 😏😂

Player count numbers are generally just a good way to get a quick feel on how the general community feels about a game. It isn't the end all be all of, but if a game is talked about a lot prior to release, but doesn't put up good numbers, then something is likely up.

I didn’t buy Marathon because of the low player numbers.
