As Buckeyes, we always wear scarlet & gray. But today we’re adding lavender to the mix in celebration of the 18 million cancer survivors living in the United States – including many right here in Ohio. Cancer has touched almost all of us in some way, and I’m deeply proud that Ohio State, through @OSUWexMed and the extraordinary researchers, physicians, nurses and support staff at @OSUCCC_James, is leading the way in developing diagnostic tools and treatments that are giving patients and families new hope in the fight against this devastating disease. We’ll keep fighting until we achieve our vision of a cancer-free world.

Big Ten play starts now! We’re excited to see the Buckeyes take the field against Illinois with our extraordinary fans cheering our team on. A special welcome to a great leader and friend, Dr. Charles Isbell, chancellor of the @UofIllinois. It was our great privilege last night to celebrate the extraordinary excellence of Ohio State’s many friends and partners. Their leadership and generosity extend our impact so much further than what would otherwise be possible. Our leadership team and Board of Trustees had a wonderful visit to @OhioStateNewark today, where we got a firsthand look at the work being done to provide access to excellence to students from Central Ohio and beyond. The real-world experience, internship and job opportunities, excellent academics and affordable costs available at Newark and all our regional campuses is unmatched – a big reason why interest from students and families continues to grow.

Today I had the extraordinary privilege of sharing a vision for how the Buckeye community can join together to make @OhioState the finest public university in the country. It’s a vision animated by our deep commitment to excellence in all we do, and grounded in four principles that have always been at the heart of our work: strong programs, transformative research, exceptional people and a signature undergraduate experience. Our past roots us in our land-grant mission, our present reminds us that we are already a powerhouse, and our future invites us to do big, bold, hard things worth doing – because that’s what a consequential university does.
