Someone sent me a message this morning: "Add Oluyole to Ibadan."
Fair. But I'm in Ilorin. And Light Dey only lets you add a place you're actually standing in, so nobody can fake light for an area they're not in.
So instead of adding areas one by one, I added all of them.
Every local government in Nigeria. All 774.
Every ward. Over 8,000.
All 36 states and Abuja.
Pick your state, pick your town, search your area. It's there.
"Use my location" got better too. It now finds the area you're standing in, not just your town.
Lagos alone has over 350 areas now. Ilorin, Kano, PH, Ibadan, Abuja, all of them.
If your area still isn't there, add it. You just have to be there.

This is the update I’ve been most excited to build.
Every day, Nigerians complain about electricity.
WhatsApp groups. DisCo comment sections. Family groups. Your neighbour shouting “NEPA!” from across the street.
But after the complaint?
It disappears.
Nobody knows how many people in the area had the same problem. Nobody can point to a record and say, “This has been happening here all week.”
So we built that part into Light Dey.
You can now report what’s wrong in your area:
• Low current
•Estimated bills
•Transformer fault
•Token issue
•Disconnection
One tap. Add a note if you want.
And because Light Dey checks that you're actually in the area, the reports aren't just random people online talking.
They're tied to real places.
So instead of:
“Abeg, anybody else dey experience low current?”
You can have:
23 people in Surulere reported low current this week.
That's the point.
We already complain.
