I feel like I should expand on this take since a lot of people are seeing it (and replying with what I want to say)
Slayr is the only one who I think can genuinely get out of the Underground and be a star one day
And it’s really sad to see a lot of that community reject him and reduce his music to “burger” because he’s really talented
People wanna hate but Trippie is completely right
Yall can gas the “Underground” all you want, but at the end of the day, Che, OsamaSon, Nettspend, etc. are NOT dropping hits or music that everyone can/wants listen to in a public setting outside of a concert
Back in this era, these rappers were making new catchy songs for everyone. And ON TOP OF THAT, they were going #1. Today, you’re lucky if any of these newer rappers sell over 20k 😂

I think one of the generally bigger problems with the Underground rn isn’t even that they make rage…
It’s that these artists ONLY make rage.
Look at Uzi, he makes rage music, but the bigger and more mainstream songs in his catalog are the melodic ones. Same goes for someone like Carti
Nobody is saying that rage has to be absent from rap, but the star power will always come from melodic rap
