Victoria’s pothole problem costs lives. This has been tragically proven this week with the news that a 71-year-old motorcyclist died on the Western Highway, reportedly after hitting a pothole. Understandably, many of his friends and family are furious about the matter. The motorcyclist in question, Peter “Tiki” Mason, was hugely valued and will be greatly missed. For the best part of a decade, regional roads in Victoria have been an afterthought for this Labor government. The quality of our roads can no longer be seen as a lower-order issue. As we have seen tragically here, the consequences of neglecting our roads can cost lives. One Nation Victoria will ensure all our roads, but particularly our regional roads, get the investment they need. But as was pointed out last week by our candidate Mark Nicholson, we will ensure that we don’t break the bank doing so!

Sadly, One Nation Victoria MP, Rikkie-Lee Tyrrell, had to pull her daughter out of a Victorian school due to relentless left-wing indoctrination being promoted. There is a steady and growing flow of stories coming out of Victorian schools regarding left-wing indoctrination of our young people. This issue has been tip-toed around for far too long. It needs to stop. One Nation would change the curriculum to remove any obligations to promote leftist woke propaganda, and we would ensure there are consequences for those who repeatedly promote it. All energy should be spent on improving standards within our schools not indoctrinating kids!

Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home. Candidate for ELTHAM Jessie Weatherley tells her experience. A few years ago, a group of youths broke into her home and stole the car. It was an aggravated burglary. The aftermath of such experiences is heartbreaking for families as they stop feeling safe in the place where people should feel safest: their own home. Crime Statistics Agency figures show aggravated burglary in Nillumbik is five times higher than it was in 2022, while in Banyule it has more than doubled. The Government will point to a decrease from last year’s peak. But five times higher than 2022 is not a recovery. Victorian families deserve better.
