Ayyyyyyyyyyyy! We just smashed through our previous highest DAU record for the @origins_tcg Steam Demo yesterday with 2226 players! Top 10 player days: 1. Sep 22 ... 2,226 NEW RECORD 2. Sep 12 ... 1,789 3. Sep 5 ... 1,773 4. Sep 13 ... 1,732 5. Sep 11 ... 1,731 6. Sep 6 ... 1,694 7. Sep 15 ... 1,569 8. Sep 7 ... 1,555 9. Sep 21 ... 1,547 10. Sep 14 ... 1,504 Every one of these happened in the last 3 weeks! The snowball is gaming speed! The real question is, what happens when people realize you can compete with a completely free deck for digital tradable graded cards, with pop rates as low as 1/1, like the Dracula tournament card below! Players and Collectors, prepare yourself accordingly……

It’s time to make my first and hopefully last public apology. I apologize for trying to paint @koingamesio & @origins_tcg as something we're not, and myself as something I'm not. •Koin is not a AAA studio with a giant team and budget. Koin Games IS an indie studio filled with a passionate team of competitors, collectors, and builders. •Origins is not our third or fifth hit game together. It's our 1st game as a studio (though many on the Koin team have built hit games together before), and it's the game we believe the genre and the players deserve: the 1st Free-2-Compete TCG with digital cards you actually own. •And I am not an experienced CEO. I am a 1st-time founder who, after 15+ years of building one of the largest sales teams in tech, left it all and risked the millions I saved to build something I believed in. The truth is that building Origins has been by far the hardest thing I've ever done. Partly because it's my first time, partly because good games are extremely difficult to build, and partly because we are trying to do something that has never been done before. Now, after 4+ years of building, failing, pivoting, failing, and pivoting again, things are finally starting to look pretty good (1M+ trailer views, 16,000+ demo downloads, 97% positive on Steam, almost 200 creators in our community). All thanks to not giving up, the incredible team we have, and, frankly, thanks to YOU! So thank you to every player, collector, and creator who has supported us over the last 4 years. We wouldn't be here without you, and over the next few months we will need you and many others more than ever! To finish, I don't believe an apology means anything unless you make a real change… So from now on, I'm committing to talking about the wins, the challenges, and the mistakes. And I commit to asking for more help from the people we are building for. Starting now. So if you're a fan of fair competition, real collecting, or just backing indie teams, here are a few ways you can help… Play Origins, invite friends or enemies, back the Alpha Edition Kickstarter (Oct 27th), make some content, heck, even share this post, or simply follow along as we try to change competitive gaming and collecting forever! Oh and in the spirit of building in public, here is my real face.

Thank you for being the community's voice inside the Parallel Team, Mookah! Your work, and the impact of what you worked on, was felt and appreciated by everyone in TILT and beyond. Personally, I really appreciated your candor, transparency, and understanding. As a fellow community member, you understood that no matter how impassioned community feedback could get, it was all borne of an intense desire to see the game succeed. You are one of the clear reasons I've stuck around this long. Thank you for everything you've done for //, for the community, and for TILT. ❤️ Looking forward to seeing where you land in the future. Whatever game or project that might be, they'll be more than lucky to have you. 🫡

As you signup for the biggest @origins_tcg $10k tournament, let me share the historical data from the Playtest Battle. 100% can help you decide! 🔖Bookmark or scroll down at the bottom for more numbers. Take note that Merlin has 45% ban rate, followed by Van Helsing at 43% and Three not so Little Pigs at 41%. So part of the game plan is think about the Legendary cards you wanna use and something you're ok to be banned in the Conquest format. In Conquest - you submit 3 decks and your opponent will ban one of them. Not open decklist, they can only see your legendary and ban it. Then you must win the match with both of your remaining decks. A match is best of 3 games so you can reuse one of them in case you lose one game. Best of luck, gamers! I will link in the comment my previous post about top banned decks and most registered cards. Spoiler: Ellen Trenchend in the Top 10 used cards so you either mirror it or bring a Boitata. Bonus: The most popular submitted decks are: 1. Three Not So Little Pigs 22% 2. Mulan 17% 3. Merlin & Van Helsing 11%

Knowing @origins_tcg legendary cards gives you 69% competitive edge in this $10k prize pool tournament! +30% for mastering them +1% luck if you sound on 🔊 So let me give you a quick rundown of these current legendary cards. Things to take note - mana cost, abilities, deck synergy 1. Robinhood is the silent killer coz the key cards can snipe you to death 2. 3 not so little pigs is the kind of grow wide deck. Summon and multiply. Grow forth and bigger til you win. And yes, they have trample! 3. Legion is the army of undead. Zombies and deathtouch cards will kill you over and over again 4. Mulan Take advantage of all On Reveal abilities! Double attack and double everything. 5. Queen of Hearts makes the most out of On Death abilities 6. King Arthur supports all the goodness of the good side - shield, buff, you name it. 7. Evil Wicked Stepmother is the exact opposite of King Arthur giving evil characters a boost 8. Merlin is for spells enthusiasts. Could be combo or control deck with how he repeatss the first spell you play each round. 9. Dracula discarder deck triggers favorable effect when the user discard cards because it seems like an unlimited engine 10. Dorothy and allies grow bigger for each move and advantageous on lanes with penalty upon summon 11. Van Helsing lets you play without running out of Tools such as Holy Water, Silver Bullet, Garlic and Wooden Stake My top faves are Van Helsing, Mulan, Robinhood & Piggies. What's yours? Notifs on for next deck tech and more gameplay videos!

okay I've thought a lot about PSA ratings on digital cards now... @Origins_TCG is either genius or insane for trying this. 1. the cards can’t be damaged so it fundamentally feels silly 2. but it adds a tier of rarity that digital cards painfully lack. typical card rarity systems ~7 states (common, uncommon, rare, legendary, etc.) PSA 1-10 ratings with .5 states = 19 x7 = 133 states a card can be in on Origins cards will come in sealed packs, boxes and cases that you can leave sealed on Steam, which is cool for the Alpha set especially. Origins cards can really be thought of as card-skins since the playable cards will all be free to use (this has been confirmed by Origins). the obvious objection is that grading exists to measure condition, and these cards have no physical condition. a digital card can’t be bent or come off the press miscut. grading something that can't degrade looks like importing the aesthetics of a hobby without the substance underneath, and I think that's a reasonable objection. the second objection is about who controls supply. A physical print run is constrained by a factory and a calendar. A digital print run is constrained by nothing. Origins could resolve this by publishing the print amounts and schedules. third, there's a pull any studio has to resist here. A collector layer with real money in it creates pressure to tilt the game toward the people spending, but with Origin’s promise to make all cards free to play with, this seems like a non-issue. I think the last point is why collectors will like this more than their first reaction might indicate. Hearthstone, Snap, and other digital TCGs operate on closed ecosystems - you can’t trade cards so they have no value outside of the decks you can put them in. Rarity only really becomes interesting to the player when they are also the collector. Gods Unchained was the first game outside of Artifact to test what digitally scarce cards could look like with a secondary market… but they took it a bit too far. extremely scarce cards from their Genesis collection (only printed once and never again) like Demogorgon and Pyramid Warden were integral to almost every competitive deck. this (predictably) nuked the competitive scene and created frustration, despite driving volume in the secondary market. this has already been avoided (as stated above, the tradable cards are more like skins of cards, there is no playable benefit besides how they look) the draw back here is you lose the inherent value of a card that is OP, but there’s much less risk of a valuable card losing its value by getting nerfed, or OP decks chasing players away because they cost too much. also… grading a physical card sucks - you have to ship an object worth money to another state, insuring it twice, waiting months, and paying the same fee whether it comes back a 10 or a 7. a 7 can leave the card worth less than it was raw, and you commit to that before you know. Removing the transit, the wait and the gamble is a real improvement rather than a cosmetic one. there's no published grade scale, so nobody outside the studio knows how many strata sit above the seven tiers or how they're determined. there's no live population report today either. published rates and a closed print run are more supply information than most digital collectibles have offered, and a running census of what exists at each grade would be a different thing again. this might be a digital TCG that has a secondary market worth participating in.

GOLDY'S GAUNTLET 11 Congrats to WIERO for winning GG11 and earning a juicy bid to the CC Cup! It was a Gnaeus-heavy gauntlet due to the "No Effects" format, but a few brave souls still brought their Earthen, Auggy, and Marco decks. Until next week, GG's all around! //
