I’m officially a Cardano DRep. Delegating your voting power should not mean giving up your voice. My DMs and email will always be open. I want my delegators to ask questions, share their views and feel genuinely heard. You may not agree with every vote I make, but you will always know why I made it. I’ll be transparent, stay accessible and put Cardano’s long term interests first. If that is the kind of representation you want, I’d be honoured to earn your delegation. This is exactly why I think the pools should be retired. A huge amount of this delegation likely came from Yoroi’s position in the ecosystem, not because thousands of users independently chose the future operator of these pools. Many delegators probably forgot they’re even delegated there. Handing years of accumulated, sticky delegation to one person while saying “no action required” is the opposite of encouraging active decentralization. Close the pools. Let delegators choose again. I feel like aim taking crazy pills that I even had to type this out. @emurgo_io how about actually looking out for Cardano for once.
An update on the EMURGO and @YoroiWallet stake pools: As referenced in our previous posts regarding EMURGO’s withdrawal from Cardano governance, including our decision to step back following the SecondFi security incident and our intention to de-register as a Cardano DRep, we are making a few operational updates. Operational control of the EMURGO and Yoroi stake pools (EMURGO 1, EMURGO 2, EMURGO 3, EMURGO 4, EMURGO 5, EMURGO 6 and YOROI) has been transferred to Shunsuke Murasaki (@MurasakiCardano). Many in the community will know Murasaki as a long-time member of the Cardano community, with especially strong ties in Japan, Indonesia, and Singapore, as well as an early employee at EMURGO before leaving earlier this year to pursue new adventures. We have full faith in his integrity to Cardano over the long term. These updates have been processed operationally and will be formally reflected onchain in coming days. Key details for delegators: - No action required: Delegations and staking rewards continue uninterrupted, and existing delegations carry over automatically. - Unchanged pool IDs: Pool IDs remain identical. Murasaki will share a separate confirmation regarding any upcoming changes to the pool names and tickers. - Non-custodial staking: As always, staking on Cardano remains entirely non-custodial, leaving delegators free to re-delegate to any pool whenever they choose.

What happened to crypto? Crypto Twitter is so soft now. Half of you wouldn't have lasted 45 seconds in a COD lobby back in the day. No mute button. No think pieces. No “this discourse is harmful.” Just pure psychological warfare and a 12 year old absolutely dismantling your entire bloodline. Now we literally have whole campaigns around "They called me a name, let me cry for public sympathy" Time to grow up lads.

I have these Bee NFTs on cardano:native that basically funded an Apiary (Bee yard) in Bulgaria a while back. While we waited on it to be built, established and producing well enough for a large distro I have been staking for their token Nectar. I'm proud to say ill be turning in those tokens for my 1KG of honey soon! Maybe 2 😉If you dont want your honey, stand by! You will be able to trade in your staking allocation for a portion of over 10K cardano:native THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK XANDER!

Rest in peace, @DollyParton I’ve been a country music fan for as long as I can remember, and it’s hard to imagine the genre without her in it. She was one of those rare people who seemed to belong to everyone. An incredible songwriter, a true original, and by all accounts, an extraordinarily kind human being. The world is a little less bright today. Rest easy, Dolly. You left it better than you found it.

DREP DECISION Proposal: Name the PV12 hard fork "von Bergen" (Info Action) My Vote: ABSTAIN Why: Not a comment on Fabian, whose record stands on its own. Two deserving names, one fork, no written rule for choosing between them. Full rationale: drep.institute/decisions/6cc…

I'm in the same boat here. Whereas dropping min cost doesn't impact me much at all (I've already not moved from the first drop), I think this is harmful to do prior to min margin being introduced at current ADA levels. I hope we resubmit with only plutus memory limits.
Voting decision update: I have voted NO on the "Reduce minPoolCost to 75 ada and increase Plutus Memory Limits (Part 2)" governance action as a DRep and as a SPO, because reducing minPoolCost even more makes no sense to me. Thats not sustainable for an SPO on any level. And even this small value is a threshold that puts small pools in a disadvantage. We need a minMargin parameter with a sustainable level first, before getting rid of minPoolCost at all. Evens the field for everybody, small and large pools. I would have voted YES on the Plutus Memory Limits, but not in this combination.

One of the coolest applications Hydra could enable on Cardano is a decentralized poker game that doesn’t feel like a blockchain application. Players commit funds to a Hydra Head, where they become chips. Once the game begins, Plutus contracts can facilitate the rules and process transfers between players with near-instant settlement. Instead of sending every bet, call and payout through Cardano’s main chain, the game evolves inside the Head. This allows players to move through hands quickly while avoiding a layer-one transaction fee for every action. The game can also be designed so that no central operator controls the players’ funds. Hydra handles the movement and settlement of value, while additional cryptography can provide private cards, fair dealing and decentralized randomness. When the game ends, the final distribution of funds is settled back to Cardano. Layer one doesn’t need to process or permanently record every move. It only needs the final result. The same model could support auctions, tournaments, competitive games and other applications involving rapid interactions with real value attached. That’s what excites me about Hydra. Not simply “more transactions,” but an entirely different class of Cardano applications. Fast enough that users stop thinking about the blockchain underneath them.

I think everyone needs something they do simply because they find it fascinating. For me, one of those things is engraving. I started with a little laser and pieces of wood. Eventually I moved into firearms, gear, steel and brass, and discovered I absolutely love working with metal. There’s something almost ridiculous about using light to permanently change a material we think of as solid and immovable. It scratches a very specific part of my brain. I’d love to know what does that for everyone else. What’s your hobby? And even better, show me something you’ve worked on recently.

Democracy's biggest bug is the delay. You elect someone, they vote against everything you believe in, and you wait four years to do anything about it. On Cardano, you fire your representative in 30 seconds. That's what a DRep actually is. Not a title. A revocable trust relationship where the receipt is permanent and the exit is instant. Every vote I cast is on chain forever. Every rationale is hashed and anchored. If I stop showing up, or start voting for things I can't defend on an open call, you move your stake and I lose the mandate that afternoon. Which is why the barrier to participating is lower than people think. You don't need to understand governance to have a voice in it. You need to find one person who does, whose reasoning you can actually read, and move your stake to them. If they disappoint you, one transaction undoes it. So go look up who currently holds your stake and read the last thing they voted for. Most people have never checked. If the reasoning holds up, you've confirmed something. If it doesn't, you already know what to do about it. No campaign to run. No term to sit out. Nobody to appeal to. Just a record you can check and an exit you can take. That isn't a crypto feature. It's a governance upgrade the rest of the world can't ship.

The @alphagrowth1 proposal looks like it’s going to pass. I’m glad the Alpha team listened to concerns from the community and entities, engaged with people, and made meaningful changes to the proposal. Am I 100% happy with the final version? Not overly, but it’s a vast improvement. But I don’t think anyone gets 100% of what they want in governance. That’s kind of the point. If the broader community can land on an outcome most people can live with, even if nobody thinks it’s perfect, that’s governance working. I’m genuinely happy to see that process play out. Did I ruffle some feathers along the way? Sure. Did I do it right as I became a DRep, probably at the worst possible time for building my own delegation? Also yeah 😅 But I didn’t become a DRep to optimize for popularity. I care about Cardano’s best interests and, just as importantly, making sure the governance process itself works. Side note: EMURGO saying one thing and then voting anyway is such classic EMURGO behaviour that I can’t even be mad haha. The vote is passing. I’m not upset about it, and I’m not even really upset with EMURGO. I’ve just come to expect that sort of thing from them. Won’t have to worry about them much longer. Sometimes all you can do is laugh, take the lesson, and move on. At the end of the day, I’m happy. Not because I got everything I wanted to see, but because governance worked. It’s not about one person and what they want to see. Concerns were raised, people engaged, changes were made, and the community is arriving at a decision. And beyond the governance debate, I’m genuinely excited to see what comes next for Cardano DeFi. There are some incredible builders and projects in this ecosystem, and I can’t wait to see Cardano DeFi get the attention, liquidity, users, and opportunity it deserves. I hope this helps bring some of that attention here. That’s the system, and the ecosystem, I want to see succeed.

Something I really appreciate about Cardano governance is how much people care. People ask hard questions. Teams show up and answer them. DReps listen to different perspectives. Sometimes people even change their minds. That’s a good thing. Healthy governance doesn’t mean everyone agrees. It means we can disagree, learn from each other, improve ideas and still keep moving forward together. Better conversations lead to better decisions. I think we’re starting to see more of that.
