My U.S. Army Military District of Washington Certificate of Achievement for "exceptionally meritorious support of Operation Noble Eagle."
The discoloration on the document is due to its contact with water when my house flooded in 2003 during Hurricane Isabel.

Capt. Besterman's words on p. 275 about getting a mission on the 12th can be misleading so let me clarify.
Soldiers from the Old Guard began deploying to the Pentagon on the 11th and I was part of that effort.
Co. orders may have come down later.
I came on 9/11.
