Q1 Project: A Research Paper on The spending habits of Africa's top 10 economies, and what it means for founders. Founders often think Africa is "too complex," but the data proves otherwise. I mapped household spending across Africa’s 10 largest economies. Here are the key findings: • Food is the ultimate TAM: It consumes 40–61% of income everywhere. Lowering food costs in Lagos or Accra beats most Series B SaaS markets. • Africa isn't one market: Payment rails are your entry strategy (e.g., telco rails in Kenya vs. fintech in Nigeria). • Income > Geography: A household's income level predicts its spending behavior far better than national borders. • Subscriptions fail: Payment timing must match income timing. Asset financing or harvest-cycle billing works better. • GDP sizing is flawed: Sizing Nigeria solely on dollar GDP ignores its massive $2.25T PPP-adjusted reality. The same stock exists as five different tokens on Solana. They look identical in your wallet. They are not the same thing. Buy "NVDA" today, and depending on which token you land on, you own: ➞ a claim on a real share held in custody, ➞ a debt note that only tracks the price, or ➞ an entitlement held for you by a licensed broker. Same ticker. Same price. Same row in your wallet. Completely different rules about what you're allowed to do with it — and those rules change depending on where you live. Nothing you use today tells you which one you're about to buy. Vestail reads every tokenised version of a stock and tells you which ones you may actually hold before you buy. ➞ Eligible: the issuer's own terms permit holders where you are—nothing in the way. ➞ Conditional: you can buy it and hold it, but redemption or dividends sit behind KYC or an investor test. ➞ Restricted: the issuer's terms exclude your country outright. The middle one is the whole point. We read five issuers' legal terms across three countries and found this: for an ordinary retail buyer, almost every tokenised stock is conditional. Freely tradable on-chain, gated at the exit. You find out on the day you try to leave. So Vestail shows you the gate before the trade, in the issuer's own words, with a link to the document it came from. You tick that you understand it. Only then does the buy button turn on. And it never sells you a version your country is excluded from. Every rule is a file in a public repo with a source link, so you can check our work against the issuer — not against our summary of it. Spent longer than I'd like on this bug, so here it is. Couple of updates on the table tennis court 3D virtual game. In a 1v1 you can now stream matches. Little bugs while building: Turned out both browsers were setting up their own video slots before agreeing on anything. When they both spoke at the same moment the slots ended up crossed, so one side was sending video into a slot the other side had already switched off. Nothing failed. It just went nowhere.😆 Fix was to let one side lay out the slots and have the other take them as given. 1v1 works now. crypto & fiat betting next.
