🚨 HOLY CRAP. 🚨 New York’s mayor used Islamic scripture to justify city policy that keeps federal immigration law off city ground. Zohran Mamdani told the Interfaith Breakfast Islam is “a religion built upon a narrative of migration.” He said Muhammad “was a stranger too, who fled Mecca and was welcomed in Medina.” He quoted the Quran: “As for those who immigrated in the cause of Allah after being persecuted, we shall surely bless them with a good home in this world.” Then the hadith: Islam “began as something strange” and “glad tidings to the strangers.” He called ICE “masked agents” who “visit terror upon our neighbors.” Then he signed Executive Order 13. It bars ICE from schools, shelters, hospitals, and other city property without a judicial warrant and limits data-sharing with federal officers. He’s clearly never read the Constitution. On Monday he sued with Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, and others to block a public-charge rule that weighs Medicaid, SNAP, and housing aid for green cards. That rule is set for Sept. 18. Letitia James filed a parallel suit. Rep. Keith Self is right: that is a perversion of the oath to the Constitution. Sharia and political Islam have no place in American law. America is not Medina.
