I predict that Chinese Communist Party will hinder its own AI development out of fear that "the ghost in the machine" might turn against them. And somehow enable the Chinese people to rise up against their oppressors.
"I think they will hinder their own A.I. development by their paranoia that it might get out of control - and might provide a weapon for Chinese people to demand regime change." WATCH: @StevenWMosher & Professor Rana Mitter unpack China's position and fears amid the A.I. race.

CCP repression also helps to maintain the muscular brutality of the Communist system. Just as weightlifters make regular trips to the gym, so CCP leaders regularly target innocent groups to ensure that its minions will follow orders without question--killing if necessary.
Human rights violations are not a bug in the CCP system. They are a core part of how the system works. For decades, the CCP has designated different groups as class enemies, from landowners and intellectuals to Falun Gong practitioners and Uyghurs. The purpose goes beyond persecuting the targeted group. It sends a message to everyone else about what happens when you end up on the wrong side of the regime. The result is a population conditioned to understand that the CCP is supreme and that survival can depend on demonstrating loyalty to the state. This repression is not incidental to the system. It is integral to maintaining it. @Bannons_WarRoom

Madrid has just approved something called the “Law of the Unborn Child” and pro-lifers are quietly applauding. Not that the law, despite its name, prohibits or even restricts abortion.  It does not. But what it does do is recognize that unborn children exist. The new law, passed by the regional parliament, states that families who are expecting a child can receive certain forms of public assistance and qualify for certain tax breaks.  Moreover, beginning in the 14th week of pregnancy, a family expecting its third child will now be officially recognized as a “large family” and receive the benefits that this allows. pop.org/is-there-any-hope-fo…

A real-life example of the Chinese regime’s United Front in action just unfolded in Texas. The U.S.–China Catholic Association (USCCA), founded in 1989 to educate Catholics in America about the plight of their co-religionists in China, is now taking orders from—if not effectively run by—the United Front Work Department of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Here’s the evidence. pop.org/the-us-china-catholi…
