Happy 62nd Birthday Paul Stewart 🎂
Wishing a very happy 62nd birthday today to one of my all time favourite former Blues

A much sought-after striker in March 1987, Paul chose to join City as the club battled to preserve its First Division status. Sadly, survival wasn’t to be, but the following season he really came into his own.
Powerful, committed and capable of scoring from all angles, Paul’s all-action style quickly endeared him to the City faithful. He was strong in the air, difficult to handle and always looked capable of making something happen.
It was clear he was destined for bigger things, and after one full season with City he moved to Tottenham in a British record transfer deal. The money from that sale proved hugely important for City, helping strengthen the squad ahead of the promotion-winning campaign that followed.
Away from football, Paul has gone on to become a hugely important voice in safeguarding within sport, raising awareness, challenging attitudes and helping bring about meaningful change.
Whatever adversity has been put in Paul’s way, he has faced it with the same determination and strength he showed on the football pitch.
A top player, and more importantly, an absolute first-class human being.
Because of the work you continue to do, people are living better lives, finding the strength to face their own adversity, and benefiting from the difference you are making. That is no small achievement.
Congratulations, Paul, on everything you have achieved, both on and off the pitch. You should be immensely proud of the impact you continue to have.
Paul, I hope you have a fantastic birthday surrounded by the people who mean the most to you. Sending you all our very best wishes today.
