Have you seen the murals popping up downtown along the riverwalk? Providence's own local artists are transforming the waterfront with vibrant new works in collaboration with the City of Providence, Providence ACT and Chroma Council. This project is just getting started - more murals are on the way in the weeks to come, so stay tuned.

Extreme weather preparedness saves lives. It was great to join members of Rhode Island’s congressional delegation and Mayor Smiley to announce $6 million of funding to improve the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier and strengthen our state’s resilience ahead of peak hurricane season.

We’re ensuring Providence is prepared for the next big storm with federal funding & investments from @PVDMayor for the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier. As Trump politicizes disaster relief funding and unfairly denies our state support, we’re fighting to protect our communities.

Over the last few months, Providence Residents have received new trash and recycling carts as part of our efforts to cut landfill waste and save taxpayer dollars. It was an honor to open the Pleasant View Elementary School playground today for our students who are growing up right here in Providence. The investments made into this renovation are investments directly into our children - into the way they learn, play, grow, and thrive. Beyond a new playground, this is a space where our students will build friendships, stay active, enjoy the outdoors, create lasting memories and most importantly, have a safe and joyful space right at school. And this year, with four fully renovated parks and community spaces across the city, we're doing more than updating playgrounds - we're investing in our neighbors, strengthening our communities, and building the future of Providence.

This week we released our 2025 Opioid Settlement Fund Report - a reminder that these investments are more than just numbers on a page. They represent real people, real progress and real lives changed. Every initiative is not only highlighted but reflects the work that we are doing every day alongside great community partners and we're not slowing down. Addiction is something that touches more than just the people in it, it affects everyone and that's why addressing it has been one of my administration's top priorities.
