Toward a more prepared and resilient emergency response in the West Bank As part of the 101 Project, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) was pleased to welcome representatives from the Italian Red Cross and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and International Cooperation at the PRCS Nablus Branch. The visit provided an opportunity to meet with the MHPSS and Emergency Medical Services teams, learn more about their work and efforts to support and serve the community, and discuss monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning. The delegation also attended the Psychological First Aid (PFA) in Complex Stress Reactions training, delivered under the 101 Project for first responders and EMS volunteers in the West Bank. Together, we continue working to strengthen the capacity and well-being of first responders and contribute to a stronger and more resilient health system. @crocerossa

At the invitation of the Icelandic Red Cross, Dr. Younis Al-Khatib, President of the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), is visiting Iceland, where he met with President of Iceland Halla Tómasdóttir and Minister for Foreign Affairs Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, along with other officials, to discuss humanitarian cooperation and the situation in Palestine. Dr. Al-Khatib also delivered a public lecture at the National Museum of Iceland on the challenges facing humanitarian work and personnel in conflict zones.

Interview with Dana Abu Koush, Coordinator of the International Humanitarian Law Unit at the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), gave the PRCS a chance to respond to the recently published announcement by the Israeli authorities which claimed responsibility for killing the little girl Hind Rajab. It was clarified that it would be erroneous to believe that the Occupation’s legal system would warrant any justice to the souls of the victims of the massacres in the Gaza Strip, including PRCS teams.

A group of Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) ambulance while it was transporting a patient from the Tel Rumeida area. Targeting medical teams and obstructing their humanitarian work is a flagrant violation of International Humanitarian Law.

under the patronage and presence of Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa, the Palestine Red Crescent Society inaugurated the North Field Hospital in northern Gaza. The sixth PRCS hospital in Gaza, it is expected to serve around 500,000 people, providing emergency, surgical, maternity, pediatric and other essential healthcare services amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

💢A delegation from the Canadian Red Cross visited the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Jenin Governorate to gain firsthand insight into the humanitarian situation and ongoing response efforts in the northern West Bank. The visit included the mobile medical clinic, the medical outpost in Al-Funduqiya, and the emergency warehouse in Jaba', as well as meetings with PRCS volunteers working in emergency medical services, community-based programs, and mental health support. The visit took place within the framework of the Government of Canada's support, delivered through the Canadian Red Cross, for PRCS programs. This support covers emergency medical services, disaster risk management, mental health and psychosocial support, rehabilitation and capacity development, youth and volunteer programs, and communications. This support has also contributed to the operation of the mobile medical clinic, which provides healthcare services in the Jenin and Tulkarm governorates, ensuring access to essential medical care for local residents and displaced families.

Dr. Younis Al-Khatib, President of the Palestine Red Crescent Society, held a series of meetings in France with French officials and institutions to highlight the worsening humanitarian situation in Palestine and discuss ways to strengthen humanitarian support. The meetings included a session at the French National Assembly with MP Richard Ramos, President of the France–Palestine Group, along with several members of the French Parliament. Discussions focused on the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the West Bank, in addition to reviewing the mission of the Palestine Red Crescent Society and the challenges facing its teams under the current circumstances. Dr. Younis Al-Khatib also held a meeting with Jean-Marie Burguburu, President of the National Consultative Commission for Human Rights, where the Commission’s continued commitment to drawing the attention of French authorities to the situation in Palestine was reaffirmed, while emphasizing their responsibilities toward protecting human rights and supporting humanitarian principles.

Following the release of one of the detained medics yesterday, a Palestine Red Crescent Society medic remains forcibly disappeared after armed militias detained ambulance crews while they were on their way to carry out their humanitarian duties on Salah al-Din Road in southern Gaza, according to a statement issued by the Society. In his remarks, Dr. Younis Al-Khatib, President of the Palestine Red Crescent Society, called on the international community, the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and human rights organizations to take urgent action to determine the fate of the medic who remains forcibly disappeared, secure his release, and ensure protection for medical and ambulance personnel while carrying out their humanitarian work. Medics carry out a humanitarian mission dedicated to saving lives, and international humanitarian law guarantees their protection at all times. As of this moment, his family and colleagues continue to wait for answers about his whereabouts and fate.
