In a letter filed w/ the court, Sen. Cory Booker urged the judge handling the Paramount-WBD antitrust litigation to independently review the proposed settlement before approving it, questioning whether its temporary commitments would adequately restore competition. The letter:

There’s been a flurry of filings in the Paramount-WBD antitrust case over the past 12 hours. They've come ahead of the judge’s planned hearing — it's in 25 minutes — on the proposed consent decree. Five media and film groups are asking to file friend-of-the-court briefs, arguing the proposed settlement raises unresolved antitrust and First Amendment questions and could limit private citizens’ ability to challenge the merger later.

Protecting kids online shouldn’t come at the expense of everyone’s privacy. VT's proposed Age-Appropriate Design Code rules could incentivize services to collect sensitive information from users to determine users’ ages.
