Well said!
Let's all take a moment to understand how self-serving it is for OpenAI, Anthropic and other execs of big hyperscalers to talk of slowing things down. 1. LLMs are not AI and won't be AGI. There is nothing AI to slow down. 2. Competition is coming up fast, slowing benefits incumbents. 3. IPOs need hype & puffery; "we are so awesome it could become dangerous" is hype & puffery 4. Cover for real uncontrollable slowing growth as IPOs look to be pushed out

Deepseek models look and sound impressive but are not great for coding, maybe good for websites and JavaScript but for any compiled language, they are fast and make tons of mistakes and omissions.

You give them a plan and discover later on that major parts have not been wired to work. On the other hand Qwen seems to be the most reliable option in the same range of affordable models. It just works, that and Muse by Meta. Everything else, either too expensive or unreliable

Crossfit the gift that keeps on giving!
An Australian competitor at HYROX Beijing suffered sudden fecal incontinence mid-race due to intense physical stress — but still pushed through and finished strong. Race organizers confirmed they immediately isolated and disinfected the affected area, disposing of equipment and waste in line with regulations. After the event, they replaced the carpet and ran a full deep-clean of the venue.

I was “black” when I read The Odyssey in high school... ...but somehow I never imagined the characters as looking like me. Why? Because they were GREEK characters. I didn’t need Odysseus to look like me to appreciate his story. I didn’t need Helen of Troy to look like me to understand her importance. They were Greek characters from a specific culture, with a specific history. And this is what Hollywood keeps getting wrong. We don’t identify with characters because they look like us. We connect with them because we recognize something human in them - their struggles, their courage, their flaws, their values. Odysseus is a GREEK hero. Helen of Troy is a GREEK woman. Their identities are part of what makes their stories meaningful. Casting Colombians and Africans and Indians as Greek ISN'T "representation." It’s just insulting. Stop it.

Sneako accidentally posted the AI instructions he used to generate a tweet, including the part where he told it to “optimize for more shock factor.” Then he deleted it. You genuinely cannot make this stuff up. 😂

HTML vs plain markdown. Markdown wins hands down, the reason we adopted it in the 1st place it is because you can read it easily, and once you render it it looks much better without the need for long meta tags around your text. Markdown saves you tokens. Html is fairy dust!

Unpopular opinion, I've been using Macs at work for a few months now, God they suck! They crash when they get pushed just a tad close to their capacity, their ui is counterintuitive, most simpe customizations need sudo rights and terminal commands, and the os is bloated as fk!

Great science that benefits humanity can be done in orbit, e.g. crystallization of drug molecules that improve patient's QOL. Thanks to @elonmusk and @SpaceX the price for sending materials to space will decrease from 10000$/kg to around 200$/kg. Amazing! youtu.be/HoLfQk30y6s?t=1799

at long last
Anthropic is questioning whether AI may turn out to be altogether useless. This is the single most honest thing Anthropic has ever written. “But achieving recursive improvement alone does not suggest an immediate change in how industrial production occurs, societies organize, or markets function. More intelligence can’t learn what a drug does over decades of use, can’t hold elections sooner than a constitution dictates, and can’t turn a stranger into an old friend in a weekend. For most people, the felt pace of this future will still be set by the bottlenecks, even if the laboratory upstream runs at the speed of compute. That collision, where recursive intelligence building itself ever faster meets the world of humans, relationships, and governance, is another part of this future we can’t predict.”
