If you missed it, this was superb - even for this Aussie fan watching us get thrashed. Bavuma was so desperate for the Smith catch to be taken he couldn’t even watch.

Apart from Bavuma’s superb innings, Jansen’s Test is what stood out for me. His innings was just like Gilchrist - it totally changed the course of the match. But Gilchrist never picked up 6 wickets as well! What a cricketer Jansen is! #SAvAUS #SAvsAUS

Apart from the minor fact Australia got hammered, I really enjoyed that Test. Years ago, so much rain would have guaranteed a draw. Not in 2026. As I’ve said many times, Test cricket now is more watchable than it has ever been. #SAvAUS #SAvsAUS

I don’t get the anger at Labuschagne’s shot. Sure, it’s frustrating he got out in the 30s again. But he’s been too defensive for too long: I’m not going to criticise him for playing an aggressive shot. I’d still pick him in the next Test.

Anderson took 50 wickets at 17.7 this season! What more could he do? He should sign up for another county and try to cause havoc when they play Lancashire!
