Red War coming back will do wonders for new player onboarding. An actual introductory story that teaches players about the world, characters and game mechanics is something the game has needed since content vaulting started.

This is the same loop since launch. They rip out what people actually like, wait for the backlash, then sell the walk-back as “we listened.” D2 launch did it. Vaulting did it. Forsaken did it. Exotics and systems did it. Unvaulting everything is good. It shouldn’t have taken a near-funeral for them to notice the sandwich shop already knew people wanted sandwiches. Its upsetting because of how much I loved Destiny since the alpha days. The memories the game brought were amazing same with the friends I made. Idk if I would ever come back to it after they handled it the way they did.

This feels like a reality check on Marathon. Bungie likely realized that moving Marathon toward a Destiny-like still wouldn't guarantee a large player base. Trying to force that transition by depriving Destiny players was only dividing the community.
