Did you know not all chocolate poses the same risk to dogs?
From lowest to highest chocolate-toxin concentration:
• White chocolate: almost no theobromine—the main toxin—but fat and sugar can still cause problems.
• Milk chocolate: less concentrated than dark, but can still cause poisoning in massive quantities.
• Dark chocolate: more concentrated, so smaller amounts can be dangerous.
• Baking chocolate: highly concentrated.
• Cocoa powder: generally the most concentrated of these.
The type, amount eaten and your dog’s weight all matter.
This is not your dog’s permission slip for a Snickers!
If they sneak some, enter the brand or chocolate’s ingredient list and how much they ate into PawLine. With your pet’s profile saved, their weight and health details are already on hand to help estimate the risk and identify warning signs to watch for.
