I saw bees stinging students on the road near block 10 in Unilorin today.
It kept happening to different groups passing through and I kept wondering how long it had to happen before someone took charge and made the bees go away.

My dad was sick and I was transiting from Benin City to Ilorin every other weekend to visit him in hospital.
My son was about 4 months old at the time.
One day, on our way back to Benin after visiting him, we were stopped by the police somewhere between Owo and Benin at about 3PM in the afternoon.
All the documents of my Camry pencil were complete except for this phantom "allocation paper."
I wouldn't give them money so they kept us there for 4 hours. Their vehicle said they were from Sabongida division. What they were doing in that particular location, I couldn't tell. They kept us for 4 hours in the middle of nowhere with a 4 month old baby.
That was 16 years ago. My Dad has since passed on to glory. My baby is now 16 and off to University.
The Nigeria police are still on the road demanding "allocation paper."
A man was stopped by the police and asked to present his allocation paper, but he said he didn’t have it.
He then began questioning the police officers, insisting that there was no such document😳

I think that sometimes it's good to have some medical knowledge otherwise, you'll be handicapped.
Yesterday, I got a call from Stephen's friend that the hospital ruled out a stroke. I called the Doctor and insisted that he was exhibiting aphasia which is indicative of a stroke and the Doctor could not rule out a stroke without imaging being conducted. He ordered a CT scan which no one wanted to pay for until I had to send the funds.
This morning, my suspicion was confirmed. An infarction of the brain really did take place and now treatment can begin. He is being referred to a tertiary center for care. I fear we are 48 hours late in his care but I am hopeful we can reverse some of the damage already done.

I got emotional this morning.
Since May when I got to Kano, Stephen has been my every day companion. He is more than just my driver, he has become my friend. On many days, his is the first voice I heard in the morning.
So to hear that he suffered a stroke which affected his speech was a little too much for me to bear.
We celebrated his birthday 2 days ago and I know how much he was looking forward to the birth of his baby next week. We still spoke about it before I left Kano on Sunday.
So, please, if you can, still continue to help me pray for Stephen's recovery.
