Deltarune fans fundamentally understand “don’t neglect the heart” but they need to know “people are riddles” and people will come to different conclusions on the answers to those riddles or even what the heart is.
In light of the Roaring Knight candidate arguments, you guys need to realize how important character analysis is to theorizing.

I know Toby isn’t Ryukishi so he absolutely wouldn’t do this but it’d be cool if there was just a section of Ch 6 or 7 that unsubtly addresses the fan theories and theory culture surrounding DR.
I don't think DessKnight is a bad theory whatsoever (it's very strong) it's just that people really want to convince you it's the only possible answer that could be narratively satisfying and is 100% certain. I just don't think it is and I think other possibilities can hold water

Ch 4 in particular goes very heavy into how people can rewrite and retell stories via interpretation. I think it's antithetical to take that and assume that there is only one way that this can go to be told well. I have far more respect for those willing to explore other ideas.

My Shinkai take is that he'd be one of the greatest directors if he just let anyone else write his films. Like he can sell an emotional moment fantastically it's just that his plots tend to suck.
