Ray keeps saying he would never hurt her or harm her, but directly contradicting that by saying she doesn't know or when she said "He'll hurt me and hurt me and hurt me" either she's not allowed to talk about it out of fear, or she's genuinely trying to convince herself.

Honestly, I don't think she's brainwashed JUST FROM THAT. It sounded like Stockholm syndrome, and like she was trying to convince Tessa AND herself because she knows it's not true.
