I like making things.

London, England
I made a window for the BBQ and i'm thoroughly pleased with it! It looks pretty mad at night and it's given me an idea for another project!

NEW: Andrew George tells me the Assisted Dying Bill is โ€˜definitely definitelyโ€™ on his list of Private Members Bills to consider bringing forward The Lib Dem MP came out 4th in the ballot, and voted in favour of changing the law. He was especially angry with the process carried out in the HOL But he stresses he will not make a quick decision, and part of that will be based on whether or not reform of the Lords can come with it

Politicians getting heckled in public is hardly new but in government and with the power to change things they should listen. Decrying it as bad manners because the heckle is critical is poor. If the comment was supportive, Rachel would be full of smiles and gratitude!
โ€œAm I gonna get arrested? Weโ€™ve got English flags on here Rachel!โ€ @TheSun interviewed Chancellor Rachel Reeves which caused quite a stir at Leeds petrol stationโ€ฆ Have to say this is the most hilarious clip Iโ€™ve seen all day!

I'm surprised by the song from Malta...i really like it! I know it's not very Eurovision but it's a pretty little tune! Not the best voice and easy with the production but it's good stuff!

I am specifically watching the Eurovision Song contest this year because of those daft nations boycotting the event due to Israel's participation!

Gutted Hearts fell short but top effort from their supporters. Would have been easy to go home or to the pub and lick their wounds but no - they showed up with pride, gratitude and defiance! Hearts might not have a trophy but they are very appropriately named!
Hearts are welcomed back to Tynecastle by a defiant support. Defeat to Celtic on the final day of the season ended their hopes of bringing home the club's first top flight title since 1960. #BBCFootball

Vote Reform to keep Keir Starmer as PM. Vote Restore to make Andy Burnham PM. A crazy time for UK politics!
Restore Britain will be standing a candidate in the Makerfield by-election. There is overwhelming demand from our local members to do so, and I entirely agree. Our campaign has already started, and we aim to win thousands and thousands of votes. More news very soon.

There's no way in 2008 that this SNL skit could realise just how well it satirises or indeed predicts the way men's feelings are prioritised over women's rights....but it does.
When Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg danced to Single Ladies with Beyoncรฉ on SNL in 2008.

The electorate is just a tool...a plaything. An MP standing down to give his mate, Burnham, who made similar undertakings to serve his electorate in Manchester an easy ride to displace the man his organisation crossed all sorts of lines to make Starmer PM! Josh Simons!

Josh Simon's formerly of Labour Together standing down as MP to give his seat to Andy Burnham! Incredible stuff!
For decades, Westminster has overseen the managed decline of towns like mine. We have talked big, then acted small, stuck in a politics of incrementalism that cannot meet the moment. We have lost the trust of those our party was built to serve. It is my unwavering belief that nothing short of urgent, radical, courageous reform will make a difference. That must start with a change in leadership. Today, I am putting the people I represent and the country I love first and will be resigning as MP for Makerfield. I am standing aside so that Andy Burnham can return to his home, fight to re-enter Parliament, and if elected, drive the change our country is crying out for. This has not been an easy decision. This is my familyโ€™s home, where only a few weeks ago, doctors and nurses at Wigan Infirmary saved our newborn sonโ€™s life. But we all must make choices and in recent days I found myself with a difficult one: defend the status quo or step forward and act. I have made my choice. I am in politics because politics is how you change lives for the better. My party has one last chance to do that: deliver for the people and places I represent, drive economic growth, secure our borders, reform our state and politics, and change a status quo that is not working. That is the fight. I believe Andy is the one to lead it.

Blimey! Must be a new record. I wonder what's been discovered about or by Stephen Gethins!
๐Ÿšจ | Stephen Gethins (SNP) has 'resigned' as an MP (appointed to be Steward and Bailiff of the Chiltern Hundreds) after being elected to Holyrood last week. A By-Election will be held in his Arbroath and Broughty Ferry Constituency.

I know the Labour freebiegate scandal at the start of Starmer's administration rubbed many up the wrong way. Farage mocked Starmer knowing he had trousered at least ยฃ5m from Harborne but only because he thought he could keep it on the down-low! Hypocrisy...thy name is Farage!
Nigel Farage claims the details of a ยฃ5m donation โ€œshouldnโ€™t even be publicโ€ and states it was an unconditional โ€œreward for campaigning for Brexitโ€. Previously Reform UK have said the donation was to cover Mr Farageโ€™s security costs for life

Smart analysis from Nick. Streeting's best attribute is his communication skills and winning the leadership will count for little unless he can persuade people of what they will be supporting in government otherwise he's only Starmer Part 2 and a slave to the backbench.
Wes Streetingโ€™s decision not to mount a leadership challenge and to call for for a โ€œbroadโ€ contest with the โ€œbest possible field of candidatesโ€ can be explained by one or both of these factors: 1) He doesnโ€™t have the numbers 2) A fundamental calculation, voiced within the Streeting camp, that the only way he can win the Labour leadership is byโ€ฆ.winning. That means being the best candidate against all comers. This is the thinking among some in his camp: Wes Streetingโ€™s politics are not perceived to be the politics of the majority of the Labour membership who get the final vote if there is no Westminster coronation. So Wes Streeting has to win every hustings, win every TV debate and persuade party members of two things: - His politics are their politics - He is a winner And the Streeting camp have been looking at last yearโ€™s Labour deputy leadership contest to challenge the idea that any contest is a shoe in for the soft left. One figure tells me that Lucy Powell, who was perceived as the more soft left candidate simply by dint of having been sacked from the cabinet, didnโ€™t win overwhelmingly against Bridget Phillipson. It was 54% to 46%. The feeling is that Bridget Phillipson, seen as the least soft left candidate even though her politics are pretty similar to Lucy Powellโ€™s, did much better than might have been expected despite the mood at the time. So the calculation among some in the Wes Streeting camp is: - The Labour deputy leadership contest shows there is a good vote to build on - The best way to win is to win by beating all comers
