After digesting this announcement, If their sensor proves genuinely better for very small, low-power, selective UV/wavelength sensing in drones, defence wearables, sterilisation systems and environmental monitoring, tis could represent hundreds-of-millions to a multi-billion-dollar opportunity.
But they would need performance benchmarks, manufacturing economics and customers before you could sensibly assign them a share of that market.
The really interesting part is that Simble says the architecture can extend beyond UV into the visible spectrum and potentially higher wavelengths. If that holds up, the addressable market could become broader than just “UV sensors” and start overlapping with spectral sensing and optical sensing markets. That is where the upside could become considerably larger.
