Travis Good (@iridiumeagle) on what actually happens if OpenAI achieves AGI first: “The first thing that happens is that nobody in the US except the government gets to access it.” If the model is too powerful to release, it can’t drive broad economic productivity. It becomes a government-controlled asset and pushes the rest of the world to build an alternative.
New Delphi Podcast with @IridiumEagle, co-founder of @ambient_xyz Travis believes open source AI will win and that OpenAI and Anthropic are making a major strategic mistake by betting against it We discuss – Why closed AI providers can’t be trusted as infrastructure – China’s open source advantage – What happens if OpenAI reaches AGI – Prompt injection and AI’s unsolved safety problem – The AI CapEx bubble and a possible AI winter – How Ambient is building Uber for inference - 00:00 Intro - 03:20 What Ambient Is and How It Works - 18:40 Verified AI Inference - 40:20 China and the Open-Source AI Race - 49:00 Why Closed AI Is Making a Mistake - 1:03:00 What Happens If OpenAI Reaches AGI? - 1:17:10 The AI Bubble and a Possible AI Winter

Founders are building entire companies on AI infrastructure they don’t control. A closed provider can change its terms, restrict your use case, or decide your product no longer fits its policies after you’ve already built the business around it. @iridiumeagle: “You don’t want to be in the crosshairs of an opinionated infrastructure provider.”

Travis Good (@iridiumeagle) on why open-source AI is so hard to stop: “If China goes closed source, someone else will replace them." Once a model and the knowledge behind it are released, another lab can pick it up, improve it, and put the next version back into the world. You can’t really put open source back in the box

The biggest fundraise in venture history is a16z's $15B close this January. It took them 30+ funds and 18 years of compounding track record to get there. Then @Rewkang watched Tom Lee raise $10B+ in a matter of months, on a thesis that he publicly called out as "retarded", for an asset that subsequently dropped >50% His takeaway: public markets will fund a great thesis at a scale private LPs never will. That's the structural insight behind Robo Strategy ($BOT), and imo one the venture community still hasn't properly digested

Consensus says the US leads AI and China leads robotics. @Rewkang spent a month touring the Chinese humanoid companies, and his takeaway is that this country-vs-country framing misses what matters for an investor Just like with EVs and smartphones, he argues both countries will build great products. But, the US will create much bigger companies driven by structurally higher margins and the deepest capital markets on Earth. Add to this the recent bills in Congress restricting access to Chinese robots, and the biggest market in the world is likely to default to domestic players

Venture Capitalist @sandykory doesn't want a slide deck to start He wants to understand the founder's life before the startup. Thats where he finds the signal.

We recently led the round for @tori_finance, a protocol bringing institutional delta-neutral yield strategies on-chain, unlocking return amplification, composability, and access that traditional finance can't offer. Today we sat down with @0xNox_eth to go deep on the podcast: • How the carry trade actually works and why FX hedging spreads persist. • How positions survive a 30% currency drop. • The security architecture, from NAV oracles to lessons from recent DeFi exploits. • Why this yield was previously gated behind 8-9 figure balance sheets. • How real-time on-chain transparency actually works under the hood. • And how tokenization turns a strong baseline yield into something significantly more powerful.
A new episode of the Delphi Podcast is live! This week we sat down with the founder of @tori_finance to discuss how institutional-grade carry trades can be brought onchain. Watch the full episode here. delphi.link/Toripod
