2025 was a profitable, but strange year for my plugin business. I share numbers & events in our Year in Review.✍️ We did an atypical thing and decreased some prices 😊 studiowombat.com/blog/wombat…

I'm having so much fun developing a browser game! I'm learning a ton and it feels good to be creative and not have to write code for months 🚀

Is there a way to fetch WP attachments in bulk - given an array of ID's? If I need to fetch 100 attachments, that's a hell of a lot of queries. Would be good if they were batched. Does this exist?

Sadly, most pesticides on berries are systemic, not contact. This means they are absorbed into the fruit and you can’t wash them off. The EU publishes data on this.
I wash my fruits in a 1% baking soda solution for 15 minutes. Berries are the healthiest fruits, but the most polluted with pesticide residues. This removes 80%+ of the surface pesticides.

I’m also prioritizing physical health. I’ve stopped eating processed food, lost 4kg this past month, and got into HIIT spinning. On average, I’m working 1-2 hrs/day less than before Summer. Life’s not all about working & professional goals!
I started Kickboxing a few months ago when I was back in the Netherlands. It's part of my current personal development drive, getting out there and challenging myself, being more social etc - I'm not just trying to conquer podcasts... 😅 Best bits: being away from screens, pushing myself physically, and being part of a team where we help eachother get better. I wanted to start for years but somehow always found a rreason not to, so if you've been putting something off that you want to do, this is me reminding you to go and do it.. Photo context: it's my thumb, not a boy! I injured it in one of my last sessions and its not been healing, finally got it checked out and its just a bad sprain (I think thats better than a break right?).

Static Studio started as a hosting platform. Today we're spending much more time on everything that happens after deployment. • Site Health • reports • monitoring • backups • environments • rollbacks Deploying a website takes seconds. Running it for years is the interesting part of the problem.

That feeling of the first sale never disappoints! 😊
Today is launch day! 🚀Feels a little weird launching a new plugin when so much of X seems negative about software dev, but I set a goal and I'm seeing it through. 280 people are getting it free through their All Access bundle. The rest gets it super cheap! studiowombat.com/plugin/prod…

Our refund rate is down 40%, partly because we now enforce our policy more strictly. Here’s what I think a healthy refund policy should look like: 1) Customers are responsible for managing their own subscriptions. State clearly that renewals are non-refundable. In practice, still refund them but keep 10–15% to cover non-refundable fees . The customer still gets their money, and you don’t lose on the refund. Win-win. 2) Offer a 14-day refund period rather than 30 days. In practice, you can be more generous: fully refund requests up to 20 days and offer partial refunds between 20-30 days. Again a win-win. 3) Deny renewal refunds 20+ days after the renewal date. 4) Don’t offer “no questions asked” refunds. I’ve never understood that policy 😊 It's easily abused and why wouldn’t you ask questions? In 2% of cases, we refuse a refund because the plugin can do what the customer needs, but they refuse our help or are very rude. 5) State that you’ll try to resolve technical issues first. A refund shouldn’t be the first step when the problem can be fixed. To make this policy fair, you should send at least 2 renewal reminders and make cancellation very easy (no follow up screens). That way, there’s no ambiguity about what you’ve done to help customers keep track of their subscriptions.

In today's Fable stupidity, it used static variables where it made no sense. Am I really the only one who thinks this stuff is embarrassing for a model that's supposed to be so good the government wants a say in it?

Fable 5 isn’t as good as people make it out to be. I’m constantly amazed by the dumb decisions it makes. I asked it to implement an accessible listbox with arrow-key navigation. It added up/down and decided to leave out left/right. That's ridiculous for a "top tier" model the gov is trying to limit access to. Every day it frustrates me with stuff like this.
