IGP DISU RECEIVES LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FROM ALMA MATER, ST. GREGORY’S COLLEGE The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, was today, 26th September 2026, honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the St. Gregory’s College Old Boys Association at a grand reception held in Lagos State. The IGP was honoured alongside the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Olayemi Cardoso at the event, which celebrated distinguished old boys who have made remarkable contributions in their respective fields of national service and leadership. The award recognised the IGP’s distinguished career in public service, leadership and over three decades of service to the Nigeria Police Force, as well as his professional accomplishments since leaving St. Gregory’s College, where he completed his secondary education in 1985. The recognition highlighted the IGP’s journey through frontline policing, criminal investigation, intelligence operations, international peacekeeping and senior command responsibilities. Since joining the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1992, he has served in several operational and leadership capacities, including as Commander of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad, Head of the Intelligence Response Team, Commissioner of Police, and in other senior responsibilities before his appointment as the 23rd indigenous Inspector-General of Police in February 2026. The award also acknowledged the IGP’s continued emphasis on professionalism, intelligence-led policing, accountability, personnel welfare, community partnership and the responsible deployment of technology in strengthening policing and public safety. The IGP expressed appreciation to the St. Gregory’s College Old Boys Association for the honour, describing the recognition by his alma mater as particularly significant. IGP DISU INDUCTED AS FELLOW OF CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT OF NIGERIA (CIPM) The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, PSC(+), NPM, has been inducted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM). The induction ceremony, held today, 24th September, 2026, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, recognizes the IGP's exemplary leadership, commitment to human resource development, professionalism and administrative excellence in the Nigeria Police Force. IGP DISU PAYS OPERATIONAL VISIT TO IMO POLICE COMMAND, TASKS PERSONNEL ON PROFESSIONALISM, COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM,today , 24th September 2026, paid an operational visit to the Imo State Police Command Headquarters, Owerri, where he charged officers and men of the Command to deepen professionalism, strengthen community engagement and sustain intelligence-led policing in the protection of lives and property. The IGP was received by the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Audu Garba Bosso, psc(+), mnips, alongside the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 9 Headquarters, Umuahia, AIG Kanayo Uzuegbu, and other senior officers. During the visit, the IGP received operational briefings on the security situation in the State, ongoing crime-fighting efforts, achievements, challenges and measures required to strengthen policing effectiveness across Imo State. Addressing personnel and stakeholders, the IGP emphasised that effective policing depends on mutual trust and sustained partnership between the Police and the communities they serve. He charged personnel to uphold discipline, integrity and respect for members of the public, while improving intelligence gathering, community engagement and prompt response to security concerns. NIGERIA POLICE FORCE ARRAIGNS THREE SUSPECTS OVER ALLEGED $100,000 FRAUD The Nigeria Police Force, through INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja, has arraigned three suspects, George Ali, Anthony Ali and Simon Ali, before the Federal High Court, Abuja, over allegations of criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and obtaining by false pretences involving the sum of USD 100,000. Preliminary investigation revealed that the complainant allegedly transferred USD 100,000 to the suspects in 2009 for the purchase and shipment of auto spare parts from the United States of America. It was further alleged that the transaction was not carried out as agreed and that the funds were subsequently diverted. Following investigation by operatives of INTERPOL NCB Abuja, the suspects were arraigned before the Federal High Court, Court 6, Maitama, Abuja. The matter was subsequently adjourned to 3rd December 2026 for further hearing. The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to the diligent investigation of financial crimes and other offences, while ensuring that suspects are brought before the appropriate judicial authorities in accordance with the law. Hope Uzodimma, at the Government House, Owerri, on Wednesday, 23rd September 2026. The dinner marked the close of the three-day conference, which focused on strategic policing, inter-agency collaboration and election-security management ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

IGP DISU TASKS SENIOR OFFICERS ON ACTION, 2027 ELECTION PREPAREDNESS AS CARSPO 2026 CLOSES The sixth Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers (CARSPO 2026) concluded today, 23rd September 2026, in Owerri, Imo State, with the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, charging senior officers to translate the knowledge and resolutions from the three-day retreat into practical action across Commands and Formations. He stressed that the true measure of the conference would be the changes recorded across the Force after participants return to their respective Commands. The IGP directed participating officers to adopt a train-the-trainers approach by cascading lessons from the conference to Deputy Commissioners of Police, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, tactical commanders and other personnel under their supervision. Ahead of the 2027 General Elections, he urged Commands to strengthen operational planning, intelligence gathering, personnel training and community engagement, while reiterating that the loyalty of the Police remains to the Constitution, the law and the Nigerian people, and not to any political party, candidate or interest group. He further charged senior officers to lead by example and ensure that professionalism, impartiality, discipline, integrity, respect for citizens’ rights and accountability guide the conduct of personnel. The IGP also highlighted the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence, digital intelligence and data-driven policing, alongside professional media engagement, timely and accurate communication and sustained partnership with communities in strengthening public confidence and effective policing. The conference resolutions, presented at the closing ceremony, provided for a comprehensive Nigeria Police Election Security Roadmap anchored on intelligence, political neutrality, professionalism, technology, community partnership, accountability and inter-agency collaboration, with emphasis on early warning, operational coordination, personnel preparedness and response to election-related threats.
