Emotional day today.
I didn’t know Charlie as well as I would have liked, but we ran in similar circles. His peers always spoke so highly of him before his passing — of his energy, of his intellect, of his character. He was undoubtedly a force for good in our politics.
9/11 is tomorrow, which feels relevant because in a lot of ways the two days feel similar, at least to me. Maybe not in scope or scale, but in significance. On both days, the world changed for the worse.
I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing on 9/11. And I similarly remember vividly when Charlie, the thought leader, the coalition builder, the communicator, the future president, the man who believed so emphatically in winning the argument in the free marketplace of ideas, was murdered in cold blood by a left-wing terrorist. The world will never be the same.
Charlie Kirk. A father. A husband. A leader of men. A patriot. A martyr. Requiescat in Pace.
