#BREAKING Petition filed in the #SupremeCourt against CEC Gyanesh Kumar in the light of the 'The Indian Express' report that various decisions relating to SIR were taken without the concurrence of other two Election Commissioners. Petitioner seeks a declaration that all those decisions are illegal, and restoration of original FORM 6. Petitioner also seeks an inquiry by a SIT into how 13 crore voters were deleted from the rolls. The petitioner further seeks prosecution of Gyanesh Kumar, Maneesh Garg IAS, Dy EC, and Seema Khanna, IT Head of ECI, for alleged violation of duties under the RP Act.

Yesterday, the Indian Express revealed how the two Election Commissioners themselves had expressed concerns over the software being used by ECI for the SIR exercise. The software consists of an opaque algorithm which has been used to delete voters through a centralized system in Delhi (bypassing EROs). I’d asked the ECI about details of the software, who designed it, & who was given the tender. SHOCKINGLY, ECI has refused to disclose the details claiming it would “affect commercial confidence”. A software used by a public authority is being kept secret for “commercial interests”. Therefore, WHICH COMPANY’s COMMERCIAL INTEREST IS BEING PROTECTED? ECI/BJP IT head Seema Khanna & Chief Election Chor Gyanesh Kumar clearly hired a private company to design the SIR software used for deleting voters.
