I know there’s a lot more that goes into this from a political perspective, but for a guy who was a Cubs fan, James Thompson was a lot more friendly to the Sox and their requests for a new stadium than he was to the Cubs when all they wanted to do was install lights at Wrigley.

It’s crazy that we only remember Alex Gonzalez for one (admittedly awful) #Cubs postseason moment.
In that lone 2003 run, he slashed .275/.341/.625/.966, with a 141 wRC+.
The 4 HRs that he and Aramis each hit during that run were the most postseason HRs by any Cubs until 2015.
