Prediction: OpenAI won’t beat meta on personal agent. Because they can’t afford to make it free for billions of users forever. It’s simple as that. They don’t have a huge profit center that makes $10B+ free profits yet. The IPO pressure is real and investors care about numbers. Thats why ChatGPT is pivoting to coding agent. That’s being said, personal agent war is a game among Meta, Google, Apple, Bytedance, and Amazon. They will each launch one and they could co-exist. Bytedance and Google have the right team that can easily do this fast. Amazon could win moms and families with Alexa and staples. Apple can tank them all if their own on device LLM crushes. But that’s a long shot. OpenAI needs to persuade investors to let it lose money for years to win this market while having a lot more chips. That’s a dilemma against their booming coding agent war against Anthropic.
