Your early warning for vulnerabilities moving into active exploitation.

We're now seeing upload progress probes for PHP’s critical RCE vulnerability, CVE-2026-109618. Our honeypots captured three HTTP requests from two source IPs, including PHP test code embedded in upload filenames. Timeline (UTC): • 20 Oct, 19:45: Previdian early-warning email sent. • 21 Oct, 13:05: First attempt captured by our sensors. • 21 Oct, 13:27: Follow-up warning emailed. • 21 Oct, 13:30: PHP security fixes released. • 21 Oct, 15:15: Previdian’s temporary virtual patch available. Our initial warning preceded our first sensor observation by approximately 17 hours 21 minutes. The evidence and IoCs: • Observed source IPs: 166.1.90[.]109 & 43.134.82[.]85 • Multipart POST requests to / • Fields: PHPSESSID and PHP_SESSION_UPLOAD_PROGRESS • Two requests used the upload filename: <?php echo 1;?>.txt Attackers did not manage to execute PHP or upload files in these first instances. Update to PHP 8.2.35, 8.3.36, 8.4.27 or 8.5.12, or your vendor’s patched package.

There’s no shame in taking a website offline while waiting for PHP security patches.

A lot of developments since we broke this on X, for those keep trying to correct us. 1. Obviously now confirmed. 2. CVSS is 9,2 3. Patches to be released today October 21st at 14:00 UTC 4. Lots of AI PoCs including our own, can’t confirm if they are this until patches released. 5. Might need ASLR bypass. 6. Cloudflare customers protected by their WAF (apparently). 7. This is bad. 8. Many people taking their sites offline until patches released.
Rumours of 2 Critical CVSS 10 PHP >= 5 RCE vulnerabilities to be released on October 22nd are starting to circulate 👀 No further details at this time, other than the Hacker News post.

Previdian can now independently confirm Plex Media Server exploitation attempts (CVE-2026-96652), corroborating the initial Plex2Shell reports. Our honeypots captured 15 requests from seven source IPs on 20 October. Payloads use junk authentication tokens to target internal Plex APIs through /player/timeline/subscribe. The entry technique matches the report, but with different infrastructure. Our decoys did not confirm code execution. Observed sources: 192.42.116[.]15, 192.42.116[.]93, 185.220.101[.]60 Payload URL host: vinfr-204-8-96-143[.]run.pinggy-free[.]link:32781 Update to Plex Media Server 1.43.3.10861 or later now! Restrict unnecessary public access and hunt for GetResultFromNetwork in requests.

🚨 Gitea authentication-bypass attempts hit Previdian’s honeypots this morning, trying to impersonate the giteaadmin account with a spoofed HTTP header. The requests targeted CVE-2026-20896, published on 3 July 2026. We first observed these attempts on 20 October at 03:37:30 UTC. Both request sequences match ProjectDiscovery’s publicly available Nuclei template: • Check the Gitea version. • Retrieve a username through /api/v1/users/search?limit=1. • Request /api/v1/user without authentication. • Retry with X-Webauth-User: giteaadmin, attempting to impersonate that account without credentials. Both spoofed-header requests returned HTTP 401 with “token is required”. No successful authentication bypass was observed in these scans. Observed source IPs on 20 October, UTC: • 20.233.250[.]77 at 03:37:30 • 52.16.128[.]168 at 03:41:28 The vulnerability affects Gitea Docker images through 1.26.2 when reverse-proxy authentication is enabled and the trusted-proxy setting allows any source IP. If you run Gitea in Docker, update to a patched release and check REVERSE_PROXY_TRUSTED_PROXIES: it should trust only your intended proxy addresses. Review unexpected X-Webauth-User headers alongside the request sequence above. Details: previdian.com/CVE-2026-20896

RAPID RESPONSE: Huntress has become aware of a widespread security incident involving ConnectWise Cloud Backup (formerly SkyKick). We’ve confirmed that an unknown threat actor abused the access they obtained in SkyKick to pivot to access customers' Microsoft 365 environments. 🧵

Around 80% of vulnerabilities in Previdian's KEV dataset can be exploited without authentication. The remaining 20% require credentials. CVE-2026-105740 (Langflow) is one of that 20%. First, they checked whether Langflow's auto-login feature was enabled. When they found it disabled, they switched to trying common, weak credentials. After successfully authenticating, they immediately attempted to exploit CVE-2026-105740 to access environment variables and perform other actions. We first observed exploitation attempts on September 19, but activity increased dramatically following the CVE's publication on October 5. If you're running Langflow, disable auto-login, enforce strong passwords, ensure all patched, and review suspicious authentication and MCP API activity. We observe exploitation attempts targeting numerous vulnerabilities every day across our honeypot network. There's simply too much activity for us to post about everything. Don't rely on social media to stay ahead of emerging threats. Sign up to Previdian to stay informed about the vulnerabilities attackers are actively targeting daily.
⚠️1,423 Langflow RCE exploit attempts hit Previdian honeypots from 27 IPs. The bug lets authenticated users, even non-admins, run OS commands through MCP server configs. Fixed in 1.9.0. Read: thehackernews.com/2026/10/la…

🚨 Ivanti Connect Secure (CVE-2026-104935) was added to CISA KEV yesterday, and early this morning Previdian's honeypot network started capturing exploitation attempts. 101 requests from 47 source IPs in just 12 seconds, starting at 02:01 UTC on October 14. Here's what we're seeing👇 Exploitation method: Requests target: /dana-na/auth/url_default/welcome.cgi With the HTTP header: X-DSCGI-PATH: /home/webserver/htdocs/dana/fb/smb/wu.cgi The captured POST requests attempt to upload Perl scripts disguised as ZIP files, including a104935[.]zip and b104935[.]zip. These scripts are designed to print a unique marker, presumably to confirm successful code execution. We're also seeing follow-up GET requests targeting /dana/fb/smb/wu.cgi and temporary files under /home/runtime/tmp/. Observed source IPs (sample): - 216.73.160[.]59 - 216.73.160[.]61 - 216.73.160[.]210 - 45.8.19[.]111 Many of the source IPs belong to the same /24 network. Hunting guidance: Check HTTP logs for the `X-DSCGI-PATH` header, particularly when referencing internal CGI handlers or temporary file paths. Look for multipart uploads containing Perl scripts disguised as ZIP files, followed by requests attempting to access those files. Full details 👇

The Danfoss fridge backdoor admin passwords are not today's date, they are derived from the device's today's date. Still stupid, but that is different to what many are reporting.
