They said geography determines destiny. I went home and proved them wrong.
I left the city noise and returned to Langtang, our village, our only home. No backup country. No Plan B. Just soil, rain, and a stubborn belief that rural kids, women, youth deserve the same future as anyone in Lagos or Abuja.
Our father gave a house and ₦30 million. We turned it into
@LangtangIHub, Starlink. Clean power. Rural kids who were told “this is not for you” now writing their own code. Youth who were invisible now building.
Then June came. We lost my brother Ponjul, my pillar, the one who believed in the Hub when it was still just a dream. Heart shattered. Still breathing. Still building.
Grief tried to bury us.
We became seeds.
The Future is Rural is not a slogan. It is the work. It is 4IR skills so our young people are not spectators in the digital age. It is refusing to accept that excellence only lives in cities.
If you are waiting for the perfect city, the perfect funding, the perfect timing you will wait forever.
Go home if that is where the work is. Build where they said nothing grows. Plant something that outlives you.
Don’t just clap. Show up.
