I’ve had the chance to know
@Nlacombe_ long before Promethee became what it is today.
He first trusted me to join the moderation team, then the admin team of the Discord server, alongside some great people who helped shape the community in those early days. (Special big up to
@SpiderSnake6,
@GrandillaDev, and all the others who where part of those early days (cc kardia, Corsican, Jessie, Estrella...)
Back then,
@capuc6ne had built most of a bot we used to track our hours on a Notion board automatically, and I later took over part of it with her.
Seeing what it has become since then is honestly crazy.
But beyond the project, Nicolas is genuinely one of the kindest people I’ve met. A heart of gold, always ready to help and give his trust to people.
Out of everything I’m working on today,
@Promethee_io is probably the project I believe in the most.
I’ve watched it evolve from the inside, step by step, and I’m incredibly proud that I still get to contribute to it today alongside an amazing team.
Special thanks to
@miron_puzanov, an incredible CTO, and to
@Barbatosso,
@phant99m, Simon and Dan (sorry guys, I don’t know your @ 😅) for the trust.
And somehow, it still feels like we’re only getting started. ❤️🔥
This little guy is building the consumer product I've used the most this month.
I met
@Nlacombe_ at a café in Paris last year while interviewing founders for
@jointhebridge 's Spring cohort.
He was a lawyer from the South of France with no obvious consumer background, telling me he wanted to build the next big social app. On paper, very little about it made sense.
I’m familiar with oddballs, but this one felt special. The skepticism I walked in with very quickly turned into: I’m all in, how do we help him?
The best and the strongest founder signal that just gave a spark were: despite having no technical background, Nicolas had built something people absolutely loved and was making €15K/month with 3000 paying customers.
All built from instinct. And strangely, that product might never have existed if Nicolas hadn’t been diagnosed with cancer at 24, something he didn’t mention in our first meeting.
So I sat down with him again, this time to understand how all of those pieces became Promethee.
I wrote the whole story here:
