“Proof of Human Work Is Dead” is the title of this story that I told in Columbus, Ohio yesterday at Midwest Bitcoin Summit. Gold is scarce because getting it requires work. But machines make work cheaper. They can make more gold. They can make more intelligence. They can make more of almost everything. And as AI and robots make human labor less necessary, governments will likely respond by creating more money to keep people consuming. But Bitcoin is different. Point more machines at a gold mine - you get more gold. Point more machines at a data center - you get more intelligence. Point more machines at Bitcoin - you still get the same 21M Bitcoin. The difficulty changes. The supply doesn’t. That’s the story.
