NOW: Chinese President Xi Jinping arrives at the White House for morning tea with President Trump as the high-stakes U.S.-China summit enters its final day. Xi and his wife are joining President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for tea before the couples head to the National Archives, where the three-day state visit is set to conclude.

🚨 More than 100 students and faculty from ten American universities—including Harvard, Columbia and the University of Chicago—just attended a briefing with a senior Chinese Communist Party official. On September 3, CCP International Department Vice Minister Lu Kang met the group in Qufu, China. The agenda included Beijing’s Five-Year Plan and its global foreign-policy initiatives. The Party’s readout says Lu wanted the visitors to develop: “a true, multidimensional and comprehensive understanding of China” It then attributes this assessment to the American students: “China’s development achievements have attracted worldwide attention.” And says they expressed willingness to: “contribute their youthful energy” …to promoting U.S.–China relations. Those are claims published by the Chinese Communist Party about its own outreach to people from American universities. The event’s named organizers were the China NGO Network for International Exchanges and the Chinese Association for International Understanding. The CCP identifies prominent American universities and explicitly includes faculty among the participants—but names none of those professors. Harvard, Columbia and the University of Chicago should release their participants’ roles and explain how this visit was arranged.

A quarter of a century has passed since September 11, 2001, when the peace of our Nation was shattered by terrorists. Today, we remember the 2,977 precious lives taken from us, honor the heroes who answered the call, & keep their families in the heart of our Nation. Above all, we must ensure the memory of 9/11 never fades, but is carried from one generation of Americans to the next. We will never forget. 🇺🇸
