جميلة الشنطي وعُرى غزة الذهبية في عام 2021، وقبيل معركة سيف القدس، جرت الانتخابات الدورية الداخلية لحركة حماس، وتم تجديد رئاسة المكتب في غزة ليحيى السنوار للدورة الثانية. في تشكيلة القيادة السياسية اختار السنوار أن يمثل قطاع الأخوات في الحركة بعضو في المكتب السياسي، في سابقة لم تشهدها الحركة من قبل، وبالفعل، منحت جميلة الشنطي مصادقة شورى حماس على الموقع. أراد السنوار بذلك نقل قطاع الأخوات نقلة نوعية في العمل الحركي، ومنحهن موقعاً متقدماً، نظراً للدور البارز الذي لعبنه طيلة السنوات الماضية، وبخاصة د. جميلة الشنطي التي احتلت موقعاً متقدماً في محطات فارقة في العمل المقاوم. كان أبرز هذه المحطات هو قيادتها لمسيرة نسائية لفك الحصار الذي فرضته قوات العدو على المجاهدين في منطقة بيت حانون عام 2006 في معركة أهل الجنّة، حيث استطاعت المسيرة تجاوز الدبابات الاسرائيلية، واقتحام البلدة، وفك حصار المجاهدين، بعد أن سقط منهن شهداء وجرحى. كانت هذه إحدى المحطات البارزة التي أوضحت بجلاء الثقل البارز لتنظيم الأخوات في غزة، ولحقها عدة محطات أخرى. هذا التنظيم الذي اعتاد العمل في الظل، هو الذي يقف كتفاً بكتف إلى جانب القيادة العسكرية والتنظيمية في القطاع، منذ اليوم الأول لتأسيس الحركة على يد الشيخ الياسين ورفاقه، وجميلة الشنطي -تقبلها الله- وأخواتها في قيادة التنظيم، هن اللواتي ساهمت في تدشين بنية تربوية من الأمهات والأخوات، ساهمت بشكل كبير في البنية المقاومة للمجتمع الغزّي. هذه البنية التربوية المقاومة، تمثل الخيوط الذهبية التي تمسك عُرى المجتمع الذي يُظهر كل هذا الجلد والصمود والتحدي، ومن وراء كل بطل يهجم على الدبابة بعبوة الشواظ، غير آبهٍ بشيء، أمّ وجدّة وزوجة وأخت، تمتلئ قلوبهن بطولة. تقبل الله الدكتورة جميلة الشنطي، التي قلّ أن يجود الزمان بمثلها، وتقبل الله أخواتها الكثر، اللواتي لا يعرفهنّ أحد.
