Replying to @standardnews
As a local councillor, my strongest objection to this proposal, over several years, was that the development work would threaten a business that was of vital importance to the film industry in the #UK. Took a long time for a resolution to that issue but am glad it was sorted. Now a building that has been empty for way too long is going to be rebuilt in a boost for #Soho and the wider economy. I don't agree with some that the creation of a new pedestrian route is a problem, I actually think it will be a good thing for those of us who get around on foot, but I accept it is not how the square was designed and some think adhering to that plan should have been a priority. There's always a balance in any development but this now has much more going in its favour than against so the decision to approve this week was the right one, in my view. Onward.

There’s an application to demolish this beautiful 19th century pub in Kensal rise. Please write and oppose. We don’t need another land modern building replacing a high quality historic pub

Both regional & local policies require a public house to be openly marketed at fair market value for min of 24 months to prove it is no longer commercially viable before demolition can be considered. The Masons Arms was closed by Greene King in May 24 & sold to a developer.

2. Failure to Prove Unviability (London Plan Policy HC7) No evidence has been provided to demonstrate that The Masons Arms pub is unviable or that it has been properly marketed, as strictly required by Brent's planning policies.

Under Brent Council’s Local Plan & London Plan, developers have not proved The Masons Arms is no longer commercially viable by actively marketing it for a mandatory period (often 24 months). The developers have not supplied any evidence. @Brent_Council must refuse permission.

The application to demolish The Masons Arms must be debated publicly by @Brent_Council Planning Committee, rather than being quietly approved by council officers. @Brent_Council planning cannot ignore 100+ objections.
