Trump in 2015: I would not be throwing Xi Jinping a dinner. I would get him a McDonald's hamburger and say 'we have to get down to work.' We're giving him a state dinner and what he has done is sucked all of our jobs.

Claude Code will now try to find a graceful stopping point when you hit your 5-hour limit mid-task, instead of cutting off mid-edit. It gets a small, fixed allowance pulled from your weekly limit to wrap up what it can.

AND YET I STILL CAN'T MOVE A FILE THAT'S OPEN.
Satya Nadella reveals his coding agent pulls every hyperscaler and neoclouds' SEC filings into a dashboard that refreshes every day for real-time ROIC "And this is the other aspect of it, which is the enterprise context combined with the world's context. In fact, I go to the SEC filings of every cloud provider, hyperscaler, each of these neoclouds. It's in real time." "I have a data runner in Fabric that brings all that data, puts it into a semantic model that then gets read by my coding agent and then surfaces it as a dashboard. And every day it's fresh." "So I have the entirety of every SEC filing that goes out there, plus all of my internal analysis constantly coming together, giving me real-time ROIC by layer."

"I said to Trump, you know, 4 days before the war started, if you do this, you know, the United States will be kicked out of the Gulf. The American Empire will begin to collapse. Your legacy will be destroyed along with your party. I said this to Trump to his face in the Oval Office days before the war began, and he looked at me and said, 'Yes, you're right. But in the end, we all die anyway, so it doesn't matter.' That's exactly what he said. 'In the end, we all die anyway.'" Tucker Carlson, in an interview released yesterday with NPR

Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer was asked by Charlie Munger, in front of a whole golf club, why he held his Microsoft stock when his partners sold. Then Munger added: "I know you're not that smart." Ballmer's comeback: "No, but I'm that loyal."

I have a task that's been running consistently without break on Opus 5.5 for 48h now lol
How does opus 5.5 have so much usage? Every serious developer is currently running Opus 5.5 24/7 Anthropics servers should be melting but instead Claude is giving out hundreds of dollars in free credits. GTP-6 Astra put so much strain on the OpenAI servers that they shut down the $200 subscription. Anthropic should be in the same position as OpenAI but clearly they have had a technological breakthrough.

I asked Opus 5.5 to explain camera focus by building an interactive lens lab Here's what it came up with after 1 hour 26 minutes in one shot, $25.66 API cost lens.lab.sael.net Move the focus ring and you can see the glass elements shift the sharp plane through the scene

The idea that higher interest rates won’t cool inflation is so pervasive. It’s comical really Bill is old enough he should know but we have gone so long without restrictive monetary policy no one knows what it means anymore I can guarantee you at 7% FFR inflation would go down
The presumption that the Fed raising short-term rates reduces inflation is predicated on the belief that higher rates reduce demand and investment. But what if higher rates don’t reduce demand and investment because the demand for intelligence and energy is unaffected by higher rates because winning the race for super intelligence has a near infinite ROI and the demand for compute will remain incalculable. Why won’t higher rates at this unique moment in history therefore lead to more inflation as interest costs are embedded in everything? And the problem is compounded as the more the Fed raises rates, the more inflation we will have and the more the Fed will need to raise rates further and so on. But what if the old models don’t apply to the current paradigm and the Fed is wrong? I think the Fed might have just made a mistake. Am I right or am I wrong?

I think people are too focused on which MAG7 is winning and not the fact that in the last 12 months ALL of them have been consensus winners at some point (so the duration of being a winner is ~6 months) and they're all competing hard with eachother now moreso than at any point in the last 20 years.

Interviewer: “you said this thing with no evidence why” Candidate: “we’ll get back to you on that” Interviewer: “why should the voters trust someone who says things with conviction and then can’t provide evidence or any data backing up their views when pressed on it?” More of that shit. We need more.

It should backfire, it's an incredibly cynical power-grabbing move that is solely about taking advantage of his opponents disarray. If he'd done a good job governing, sure I'd give it to him but he has been demonstrably awful. I don't think there's a single KPI that BC is better on now than when he started: Cost of living is up significantly Fiscal sustainability far worse Health care wait times and availability are significantly worse Homelessness is worse He claims BC is open for business but frequently shuts down or discourages large investment projects He's frequently at odds with the Federal government And don't get me started on the First Nations crap. He is an existential threat to the wellbeing of the province and the people in it at this point, time to go.

The whole “20x” in Claude’s pricing is so misleading. The $100 plan says 5x Pro limits, while the $200 plan says 20x Pro limits. That makes it sound like you’re getting 4x the usage. But the 20x applies only to the 5-hour usage window. The weekly limit is basically just 2x the $100 plan. I spent way too much time digging through the internet and Reddit to figure this out. They could’ve just stated the limits directly instead of marketing it as “20x.” That alone would’ve saved me hours of confusion.
