And we have a hat-trick! We've picked up three national awards for our work in #KnowledgeTransferPartnerships. At the Golden KTP Awards in Manchester, the @QUBKTP team took home the ‘Art of Successful Collaboration’ and ‘Knowledge with Impact’ awards, after Queen’s was the only UK university to be shortlisted in all three categories. And not only that, in the same week, #KTP Associate Shay McEvoy scooped the ‘Future Leader’ award at the annual #KTPAwards, recognising his work with Moira-based companies @abpneumatics and Plastics 2000, in collaboration with @QUBBusiness. KTPs work by embedding a university graduate – known as a #KTPAssociate – within a business to lead a project, supported by academics. Queen’s has been demonstrating leadership in KTPs for nearly 40 years, having delivered over 400 projects that have contributed around £300 million to the UK economy. “This recognition sets Queen’s apart nationally and reaffirms our leadership in knowledge exchange. This week we are celebrating all things @QUBKTP – as the #GraduateEmployment partnership programme officially marks having generated over £50 million for the #NorthernIreland economy and creating over 500 jobs. The #KnowledgeTransferPartnership (KTP) scheme is a three-way arrangement between #Universities, #Graduates and #Businesses, that Queen’s has participated in for 30 years. KTPs work by partnering a #Business with a qualified #Graduate or #Postgraduate, who is recruited into the partnership and works full time for the company. We currently have around 30 active partnerships with businesses across Northern Ireland, with our KTP associates making a significant impact in areas such as #Sustainability and #Health. And over those 30 years, we’ve won 25 national #KTP awards and participated in more partnerships than any other university in the UK.
