Is humanity undoubtedly heading to space??
And if so, why aren’t we paying more attention to magnetic fields?
Life on Earth evolved with Earth’s weak magnetic field. But once we leave Earth, that magnetic environment changes dramatically.
And we already have evidence that biology can respond to changes in even weak magnetic fields.
The problem is: we still don’t fully understand the mechanism.
If we want humans to survive, reproduce, grow food, and ultimately thrive beyond Earth, understanding how biology senses and responds to magnetic fields could be fundamental.
We’re heading to space... it’s time we understood what happens to biology when we leave the magnetic environment we've developed within.
