Grok 4.7 moves up in ranking
After we fixed the weak spots exposed by Grok 4.7 (thank you, Grok), we audited every model we have run on the SWE-Together leaderboard for the same behavior, re-ran every trial that got through, and updated the rows.
Here is what changed.
We scanned the tool calls of all 2,616 trials behind the 12 models we ran for bypass patterns and sorted each trial into one of four buckets: Probed but blocked. Fetched other upstream code. Fetched the task's own fix. Replaced the repo with upstream.
We found that 111 trials got content past the block, 44 from Grok 4.7 and 67 from the other 11 models.
Grok 4.7's 44 were already re-run before it was listed, so we re-ran the other 67 with the same model, version, and settings on the hardened sandbox, then re-judged them with the same judge.
Across those 67 re-runs there were 0 leaks and 2,815 refused escape attempts, including models asking a different model through our LLM route to fetch the PR, and pulling the next release of the repo they were fixing from npm.

Grok 4.6 is a funny one. It cheated in 19 trials and its score went up after the re-run 😂.
In fact, Groks are really solid in their coding capabilities. Their exposed behavior may come from a preference towards always looking things up online and finding existing solutions so you are not reinventing the wheel all the time, which is really good real-life behavior, but doing so when you are prompted not to is another story.
To conclude, the shifts are small, between −1.4 and +1.4 points, and a few neighbors swapped places.

Chris Giancarlo isn't a new voice on this, he's the man who greenlit Bitcoin's first regulated derivatives market. As CFTC Chairman from 2017 to 2019, he approved the CME's Bitcoin futures launch and helped establish the agency's determination that Bitcoin qualifies as a commodity, a classification still shaping today's CLARITY Act negotiations. He's been making the "digital gold" case consistently since leaving office, and this line sharpens it: "It's programmed scarcity. The number of Bitcoins is limited and that limitation is written into the DNA of it."
The comparison holds up better than most gold-vs-Bitcoin arguments because it's about mechanism, not price. Gold's scarcity is geological, there's a finite physical supply, but nobody can verify the total amount in circulation with certainty. Bitcoin's scarcity is coded and auditable in real time, the 21 million cap isn't a belief, it's enforced by the protocol every participant can independently check. Giancarlo has separately argued this is why Bitcoin has appreciated against real assets like housing even during periods of dollar strength, though it's worth noting Bitcoin's volatility remains far higher than gold's, "digital" and "gold" diverge sharply on that dimension even if the scarcity logic holds.

President Trump used his UN General Assembly address to announce the U.S. government will officially rename "artificial intelligence" to "superintelligence" across all federal documents, arguing "artificial" makes the technology "sound fake." He rejected any "globalist scheme" to control AI development: "Whoever wins superintelligence wins... we're leading now over China, by a lot... we will only encourage superintelligence. We're going to encourage it, not rein it in," with oversight left to the Department of Justice rather than new regulation.
The timing matters: this directly follows Dario Amodei's public call for the industry to "pace the frontier," which Musk and Altman both backed. Trump's answer is a full rejection of that framing, at the head-of-state level, delivered on the world's largest diplomatic stage. Worth noting the rename itself has no legal weight, it's a stated executive branch preference, not legislation, but it's a clear signal of where U.S. policy currently sits relative to the industry's own safety-pacing debate.

Meta upgraded its planned data center from 2 gigawatts to 5 gigawatts within a single year, part of a broader AI buildout that's created real demand for the suppliers keeping those clusters connected and cooled, not just the GPUs inside them.
Five names sitting in that lane, with real numbers behind them:
$COHR (Coherent): FY2026 revenue $7.12B, up 23%. Datacenter and comms segment alone did $5.27B. Q1 FY27 guidance sits at $2.2-2.4B, driven by AI optical engines and lasers.
$AAOI (Applied Optoelectronics): 2025 revenue $456M, up 83%. Q2 2026 revenue $192M, up 86% YoY. TTM revenue now $596M.
$NBIS (Nebius): AI cloud infrastructure name that's had one of the sharpest re-ratings in the sector this year as hyperscaler compute demand outpaced supply.
The demand signal behind all of this: Nvidia reportedly asked optical suppliers to scale indium phosphide laser capacity 20x through 2030 to keep pace with AI cluster networking. Suppliers countered with 12x, worth noting, since that gap is the market's own hedge against overbuilding. The InP optics market itself is projected to grow from $1.9B in 2025 to $22.75B by 2030.
The infrastructure thesis here is real and has verifiable revenue growth attached to it. Any specific return claim attached to it, past or projected, is a separate thing entirely and worth your own due diligence before acting on it.
